I got my start in adult and then moved into mainstream. Let me tell you, if you aren't already successful in mainstream you're in for trouble in adult.
Think 1:5000 conversion ratio's. You need a TON of traffic, even more so now with all the tube sites.

I was just competing with TGP/MGP sites that gave too much away for free. Now that everything is free on the tubes I wouldn't want to go anywhere near adult.

I agree with the above posts. Tube sites have basically killed the old way webmasters made money with internet porn (affiliate programs/percentage of rebills), unless you own one of the tubes.

However you can make a killing as stated above with niche or even micro-niche porn sites. People are always willing to shell out $$ for really weird fetishes.
