There's so much shit in bst that I have to sift through. Jon should just raise the price even more so these fucks can go back to slingin their useless shit on DP.

Hes got a point. So should a thread really be that cheap?

Pros:

No more indians (hello sir, do you have any more work for me please?)
Reduces the number of services
Makes it easier to find quality services
Less competition means service providers can spend more time improving their service even more

which all leads to a better experience for the customer

Cons: ???

I know that my argument is totally flawed, except for the indian part. (+rep for any socialist fag who figures out why)

MAYBE I CAN BE THAT SOCIALIST FAG?

IS IT BECAUSE REDUCING COMPETITION BY INCREASING ENTRY COSTS TO THE MARKET REDUCES CHOICE FOR THE CONSUMER?

IS IT BECAUSE REDUCING COMPETITION BY INCREASING ENTRY COSTS TO THE MARKET REDUCES CHOICE FOR THE CONSUMER?

why would increasing entry cost reduce choices for the consumer and how would a reduced choice for the consumer affect him negatively?

I don't care that much about a +rep, too much work to do this morning. Good luck with your thread!

I dunno OP because you have the warrior forum and since they charge a bunch more you still have to deal with guys who think they know SEO but really know WSO's.

I wouldn't even have a problem with a $360 fee (it would probably result in a higher ROI anyway), but just make the thing last more than 10 days please.

WHY DONT THAT SHIT COST LIKE $9 AND THE REST SUBSIDIZED BY OTHER MEMBERS OF THE SITE?!?!?!?!???!?!?!?!?

WHY DONT THAT SHIT COST LIKE $9 AND THE REST SUBSIDIZED BY OTHER MEMBERS OF THE SITE?!?!?!?!???!?!?!?!?

why not make it free but have 60% of the revenue distributed among all the site members?

Lets keep it simple.

All WickedFire members chip in $1 a year
BST thread - $36
BST price - $9
$27 from WF member revenue subsidies

Each thread made generates more subsidies, and more members register because theres a great market with great services to offer

WF admin get richer by each BST thread made and by each subscription

Double the profit double the fun

Later we can take certain amount of that money and invest in new header jpg.

Succe$$.

I vote for one hundred million thousand bitcoins and thus limit it to only extremely wealthy tech savy, privacy conscious providers

you?

Why don't you have your thread in your sig?

I'm not sure how this thread will be received, but let's try to maximize this discussion while we can.

First and foremost, WickedFire - start charging a membership fee. I will pay. No seriously, when you have a community member asking to pay you, it might be worth considering. Then again, this might actually piss off a vet or two, which are really the reason I'm around in the first place. But I support this idea. If paid though, I suppose the ongoing community would expect to see some further developments, and that might just stink of ass pain for you guys.

So this thread, and the above-mentioned idea, is an integrity question, right? Will charging a fee, or raising an already established fee for BST, stop irrelevant memberships/services? Obviously not, there will always be some self-righteous idiot who thinks he has the key to all that is holy. However, I do believe there is a tipping point to it all, a fine line that will separate the more dedicated marketers from the "oh hai" memberships and from people like me who have nothing of value to offer, but can throw up a snazzy wordpress site that would lead you to believe differently in BST.

I mean, think of it in terms of generations. By all means, I'm a new generation SEO - in fact, I don't rate the title quite yet. But I take very seriously the contributions I make to the few communities I spend my time in. Eventually I'll become a worthy contributor to the communities I've been loyal to (or I'll start flipping burgers).

Weed out the idiots from the get-go. Aside from some of the great, and equally useless, information around these parts, your BST forum could be a stand-alone selling point.

There's money in it for you, and here's hoping there's authority in it for us.

On an ongoing basis, not sure I'd pay a fee. The value I personally get from WF is limited to a few specific posters. You'd also vastly reduce the reach of sales threads.

Putting up BST prices IMO would be a good move though. $36 is too cheap, and it's resulted in the BST being full of absolute shit, with the good threads hard to find, especially with the 10 day rule.

I'd far rather have 1 thread for each service, but then a renewal fee or it gets locked, or something along those lines - so that you can see the threads really generating a buzz. With the current system it's difficult to spot the good threads from the random indians selling blog comments from Loopline's AA lists. Of course all inclusive of their "panda/penguin busting secret sauce", which you're never told about, and never see any evidence of.

Why not both?

For $1000 make it sticky for 30 days - it means you are dedicated to particular business.

Have bump option for $20, like on warriorforum and don't lock the threads :D

I rather like the cheap shit for a lot of things. Not every site needs high priced quality. Some sites are just meant to be spammed, then tossed if they die.

There is a bunch of shit, but the best way that I can think to get pass that is to perhaps to have a member voted section or something with very stiff penalties for manipulation. Or make it so that only people who are eligible for reviews can actually vote.

The BST zombie thread is back, and it's screaming through the streets in search of brains. This topic just won't die until changes are made in the way BST is structured.

For the umpteenth time, I suggest a premium vendors' section. The lords and masters of this site made positive noises regarding this idea, but haven't implemented. I suggest charging vendors who wish to be included in this section a nominal fee of... let's say $20... to be included. Of course, their status as quality vendors could always be revoked. Their threads should always remain open for continuous feedback.

Let the riff-raff new vendors continue paying a fee. Once they have enough rep, they could move into the elite area.

The above suggestions would help WF members find the quality services their looking for without guesswork. It will always enable new vendors to establish themselves here.

This will finally kill the BST zombie. :glowingeyes_sml:
