Any chance you plan on adding the ability to scan/analyze more than the Top 10 results? A specific use case that I'm finding this would be useful for would be when doing rep management and your goal is to push up positive pages above any negative press. It would be nice to pick the highest scoring targets out of the top (just say) 30 results to send links to. Also, when the Google dance is happening and pages are coming on and off the front page, it would be nice to keep track of them.
Thoughts?
So this has been asked for in the past, and it's something I am interested in pursuing, I'm just not exactly sure how I want to go about it yet. While the Competition Analyzer tool at first glance looks like a solution for this, I think there almost needs to be a different tool setup for this entirely. The reason being the competition analyzer is built around the idea of "this is how the front page for this keyword all fits together" and adding more pages of SERP results to it might make things get a little funky.
Ultimately, I think what you're describing is that you want the ability to search, say, the top 50 results and find the most powerful results that are positive (like favorable reviews on a powerful site for instance) and then you can target those to front page them.
I think this would use a score like the current CI, but it should be in the context of a different tool, something better suited for reputation management.
We can certainly start thinking about such a solution, I'll see what I can come up with. It really would depend on demand from the market.
As a possible solution/heads up for the future, sometime in November we'll be opening up a public API for people to programmatically use all of our tools in their own systems. You'll be able to use the full competition analyzer, discoveries, on-page tools, etc. along with our Keyword Intent system (give us a keyword, we tell you the intent a second later), a platform/advertising/analytics sniffing API, and the ability to feed us just a single url to get the CI score for it. That might be way to pull of a rep management system down the road.
Launch Update
I'm just finishing up some landing page stuff today as well as finalizing the in-app tours. Once those are done, we'll be doing a test database import (we have a shit ton of data so we want to be safe here). Once that succeeds, we'll be taking down the current serpIQ for an hour or two, migrating over all of the data, then pointing the DNS at the new system away from the current system. We'll send out an email to everyone once that is done, and once that is life you'll also be getting your discount code email as well.
I'll be online probably overnight to help anyone out via the in-site chat once we launch just in case the transition catches people off guard. Development is not going to cease once we migrate over, our list is still long, we're just wrapping up the stuff we're planning to have for this new version on Day 1.
