Quit Smoking.. FML

Allen Carr's easy way

this, read the book three days ago and quit smoking then and there, been smoking 20-40 a day for 20 years.
frankly its been pretty easy, dont know what all the fuss was about really. keep thinking like after a meal, "right gotta go have a smoke" then about 2 seconds later go "oh no i dont, i'm a non smoker" and thats that craving over.

anyone who smokes HAS to read that fucking book.

i'm trying that champix pills shit atm (like 4th day into it)... its alright, makes you pretty off your face tho (not such a bad thing)... and feel pretty ill when you do smoke...

can have scary side effects. Like that news anchor woman that decided to walk over to the kitchen and cut up her veins (she didn't even know why she did it, she said).

I was talking about it with a friend a couple of days ago. When I was a smoker I couldn't picture myself without smoking. Now I've been smoke free for 6 months and I couldn't care less about the stupid cigarettes (can't picture myself smoking that shit again).

Watch anti-smoking ads on youtube for an hour straight, really good motivational boost!

I just quit cold turkey 3 days ago after about 10 years of smoking. So I'm right in the peak of this thing :rasta:

I have blucigs and they're great but I'm all for getting the nicotine addiction gone as quickly as possible so I'm avoiding them. The shitty thing is, I just got the onset of the flu from the trip. I'm in an extremely stressful work environment since ASW with an unbelievable amount of work to do. I also quit fast food for new years and decided to start up exercising again once my flu goes away. Not the best quitting environment but it'll be gravy. I'm an asshole like that, when I get my mind on doing something thats it.

great decision, hang in there. Cold turkey sucks, dunno how people do it... I'd roll with Nicoderm if it gets really tough... quitting Nicoderm is a piece of cake compared to quitting cigarettes.

If you don't quit it will eventually make you :)

oh & the title of this site kind of gives it away ... wicked fire as fire has connotations of hell, the devil, heat, smoke .. hence why it's not the best idea to breath in fire if you don't want lungs blacker than an african.

Hi i just bought an electoric cigarrete. This doesnt taste like an ordinary cigarette damn waste of money but let me try to use this first and try for the next couple of days maybe I can quit smoking with this....

About 6 months ago I made a stupid bet. "I bet you can't grow your hair for 6 months, in fact if you do I'll quit smoking"

Today is 6 months...

11 hours without a smoke, anyone care to join me and see who can go the longest? cmon someone must have made this a new years resolution.

As a background, I've been at a pack a day for the last 2 years.

p.s. anyone who mentions allen carr's easy way i'll kick in the face.

How's this going then bro?! I'm gonna have my last ever ciggy in a minute! Was gonna wait for my 30th, but all the signs are telling me today's the day: 1) It is No Smoking Day, 2) It is "Ash" Wednesday and 3) The Tobacco display ban has just been announced! lol :)

Haha let's say I've purposely not bumped this thread so I could keep my failure secret...ish

I seem to always have an excuse to go back to smoking.

Good luck though man

Hmmmmm give up smoking for lent... You got me thinking now; let's see if I can't last longer then 4 days this time around haha

About 3 weeks now, possibly 4. Had one small cig about a fortnight ago, and half a cig (put it out halfway through). I barely cough at all now, nearly there!

Keep at it, it's worth it :)

did i read the wrong allen carr book or did he basically just talk about himself smoking for twenty years for a hundred pages and then his method was to just not smoke a cigarette ever again?

I didn't smoke for two days but I did it again. I am trying to quit smoking my slowly reducing the number. I used to smoke 10-15 cig a day. Now I am okay with 4. It is completely waste of money and health.

How about weed? any better than cigarette?
