Quit Smoking.. FML

i'm trying that champix pills shit atm (like 4th day into it)... its alright, makes you pretty off your face tho (not such a bad thing)... and feel pretty ill when you do smoke...

aren't those pills known to cause major depression and psychosis?

OH. Still haven't smoked, i got this shit on lock; felt really light headed and dizzy yesterday from the nicotine withdrawal, feel good though today, still replacing smokes with food :D

I'm also finding that the gaps in time between thinking about having a smoke are getting longer, which is good.

how you doing megatabbers?

Good to hear. I'm doing really well, surprisingly. 1st full no smoke day yesterday. Woke up this morning and didn't get the urge to light up for a couple of hours (usually wake up with a ridiculous cravings and light up while still in bed).

Good for us! (pat selves on back)

I wish i had never started. It is definately affecting my health now, i can feel it. I have ben smoking about 12 years.. It is so engrained in my life. My only hope is to cut down.

To those interested, I actually did one of those laser treatments that are supposed to work like acupuncture and successfully quit. You can check out the info here: http://www.omegalaser.net/ It was only $300+tax and although I wasn't really sure on what would happen, it really did seem to work.

What it did was completely eliminate the physical need for a cigarette. I still get the mental urge of smoking a cig, but I don't feel the anxiousness and don't start shaking.. in other words, even though my brain tells me to smoke one, my body feels absolutely no need for it and the craving easily goes away after a couple of minutes.

Basically, this takes care of the crack-head like physical urge.. you just have to grow some balls and overcome the mental aspect.

Good luck!

Just think of that extra 2k+ that will be sitting in your bank account at the end of the year and god knows how much in future hospital bills.

yo grab the patch, some nicorette gum, laser treatment, champix, acupuncture, and quit with us guy.

You know how u get major cig cravings right after having lunch/dinner?
I strongly recommend having a green tea right after lunch/dinner it calms you down and serves as a replacement to the cig ( + it's healthy as it detoxifies your body yooo )

Hope that helps ;)

A friend of mine got these fake cigarettes, and when she would usually smoke she would do the exact same thing as she usually did, but instead of getting a real cigarette, she grabbed the fake one, and pretended to smoke it for a few minutes as if it was real...the toughest thing she had with quitting times before was breaking the habit of actually smoking...

What kind of fake cigarrets? Electronic ones or the one that they put in laurel leaves and roll it over like weed? :)

Arguably the best smoking "cessation" option currently available. Nothing else comes close to the success rate of the e-cig. That's how I did my original 17 month no-smoke stretch.

Yeah... I might try that in the future. I've been smoking for about 5 years now starting 18. I never tried to quit I don;'t know why but I think I will cause I have my first kid 2 weeks ago. It's just I don't know when.......

How are you holding up Navuud? Day 4 here and going strong. Had some hardcore cravings yesterday but overcame them. Today has been a breeze. I think I'm out of the woods.

And you? Still on the wagon?

This is a tough one because normally I wouldn't think someone could really quit smoking based off of a bet, but whew! someone grew out their hair for 6 months for you...that makes this more serious! I've tried to "quit" since I started like 6 years ago and honestly I haven't because I really don't want to, I love smoking, I just have it in my head that i "should" quit.
The longest periods of time I have gone without smoking were do to participating in detox diets, substituting all natural flavored chewing sticks(found in most health stores) to occupy my oral fixation, being sick, or not drinking. I think in the end no matter what you do it will only work if you 100% with all your might want to quit!! I would say NOT to use the patch or the pill because they are insane all will make you crazy-real talk.
OH YEAH ALSO>>>> you could substitute your cigarettes with all natural tobacco-free herbal cigarettes which you can either buy at certain smoke shops or buy the herbs and papers and roll em yourself!! The Damiana Herb tastes wonderful and smells so good and honestly is nearly as satisfying as a normal cigarette...checkitah!

Fml man. I've tried quitting 3 times...never made it more than 4 days. I'm surprised it's easier to put down the ganja pipe than it is the filter. I've been looking into those chewing sticks though, they seem like an awesome alternative...I'd just hate to sit in one of my classes during break looking like a motherf*cking beaver.

It's tough to quit...I recently quit for 3 weeks after having bronchitis...the first week was really tough but then it got a bit easier...then I went on vacation and started again.

I kept telling myself i would not stop smoke when I got back but it didnt happen and here i am 2 months later

The best way to quit smoking is cold turkey. Mind over body. You don't need that garbage in your system.

You may get headaches, stomach aches, depression, stress, feel like you want to choke puppies and/or slap people... trust me, I know.

You have to remind yourself that your long term health is worth more than a few short term symptoms.

Good luck bros!

why dont you try nicotine patches..concept behind the patches is it allows the slow release of the medicament(nicotine) which last for longer time as a result craving for smoke get decreased slowly..
