It's really up to you. We have clients ordering 3-5 a week for the same site. But mostly 1 a week/month is quite fine also.
Each release will bring different benefits to each person. So after your first one track results, traffic, SERP's go from there.

You had mentioned your site was almost on page one before you used our service. Hence you had already been working to get it there with other methods. My guess is with some research I will be able to find out why your site got hit.
