Plenty Of Fish hacked

problem isnt hackers getting into peoples accounts on POF, its that theyre gonna now use alot of that data to now log into all those peoples Facebook & email accounts (bc lets face it.. how many people use the same 1 password/email for everything!) and I don't see POF exactly racing to tell its users they were compromised x_x

Would you honestly admit it if the advertising platform was affected? Honest question.

What was that?....

Exactly, who gives a fuck if people's dating profiles are compromised, as you said it's the email accounts\online banking\paypal and facebook accounts with the same passwords that are going to be screwed over.

Holy fucken shit guy you stored passwords in plain text and emailed them to people, start spending some of your millions of dollars on security ffs. Hell it would cost you $0 to hash all the passwords in the database like people have been telling you to do for years.

OKCupid > POF

Fuck plenty of fish, Markus is a fucking cuntfish. "145 million active visitors" - read: we have 145 million users email addresses and plaintext passwords. (although I bet 144.9 million of those are spam accounts)

Yeah good one Markus, you have spent money sorting out an ad network, yet you dont give a flying fuck about any of your users and refuse to spend any money on tieing up your security.

marcus' story doesn't even make sense.
not that I trust an argentinean.

maybe pof will get some security done on the site. not upgrading usability is one thing, but security... I think you have enough money to increase it.

Markus is a smart guy but that blog post doesn't even sound like him.

Brian Krebbs has his shit together, I've been reading his blog for some time: PlentyofFish.com Hacked, Blames Messenger — Krebs on Security

This is probably the best time run ads on POF since people will have lost trust in them and consider moving to paid dating if they think it's more secure...

What fucking year is it? Storing passwords in plain text and shitty code that allows SQL injection? You could teach a two year old how to prevent SQL injection, you just have to properly escape any variables that are used in queries.

Sheesh...

And what the fuck is this about?

While we were creating the legal documents in order to proceed, Markus Frind got progressively more aggressive and unresposive with us, and told us to speak with their employees, Kate and Jay, because there was a serial killer, murdering people from the website.

Ben, has Markus actually said this to you as is being reported eleswhere?...

'If I had a wartime consigliere, a Sicilian, I wouldn't be in this shape!'

I wish Markus would use that line as his sig for a while.
