Hi Guys,

Just wanted to let you know, there is some problems going on with PayPal today. All the payments received are getting reversed. I know this is crazy and I request you to please hold on to making payments to all the Indian providers in the BST (it's a request) until this fixed up.

There has been no updates, no blog posts anything from PayPal. Just got an email stating this.

Hello **********,

Your payment of * has been sent back to the sender of the payment.

We reversed this payment because we have stopped allowing personal payments to be sent to or from India.

If this was a payment for a purchase of goods or services, and not a personal payment, then you may contact the buyer and have him or her resend the payment as follows: (a) click the Send Money tab, (b) select "Goods," and (c) provide a shipping address.

If this payment was a personal payment such as a gift, then we have requested that the sender find another payment method until we restore personal payments to and from India.

We are trying to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and we're sorry for any inconvenience.

Thank you,
PayPal

Also I would request you feedback on 2co as the payment processor, even though I have had used and loved PayPal for the past 2 years.

Paypal don't take a cut from gift payments afaik.

Make it clear to buyers that they should choose the goods options - or just setup a buynow button.

I am not sure about the business accounts right now, but I have a Premier account since the last 3 years and almost of the Feb 2010 transactions have been reversed and sent back to the buyers.

Is this happening to the Business accounts too?

That's crazy. Is it because too many people were requesting personal payments for services to avoid paypal charges?

I can guess that, but all of my transactions that were returned were from the 'Service' category so PayPal got the fees.

I will be posting an update shortly on this.

I use 2checkout for about a year now. Never had any trouble with them. They have helpful support and always pay on time each Wednesday. Great thing is that they accept all kind of payments including paypal. IMO, it's first class payment gateway.

They will call your first few customers on your behalf to verify that goods have been purchased and you are not cheating or perhaps laundering the money.
They have $300 dollars bottom threshold for wire payments, lower is you use payoneer card ($20).
They keep 5% of your funds as a reserve for three months and then release it.

It's best if you have 2co/payoneer combo like me. You can request your payoneer card and lift money from atm's day after 2co sends you your money.
After three successful payments to your payoneer account, you will be given option to make payoneer US virtual bank account and then you will be able to receive payments directly to payoneer (only good for mastercard and visa cards).

For additional details, pm me :)

after I applied for a merchant account they decided to slap me by holding 30% of gross payments received for rolling reserve, holding the funds for 120 days LOL what a joke - what business would be able to operate on this?

See, now that is reasonable.

Without looking into it, I can almost guarantee that's why they did it. In fact, they do it all the time when single accounts get suspicious. Granted, to hit an entire country like that is a bit extreme, but what can you do? Business accounts pay a fee on every transaction, so yeah...

As for 2checkout, I've been using them for 6 years now and they are fine. The customer service is okay and I've never had a problem with them... but they will rape you in fees. Rape you hard.

Ahahha I was helping to set up a Hostgator account for a friend and paid using my paypal... Got a payment right back saying something about ID verification. Fuck that. I set my friend up on my Zensix VPS. Fck yeaaa !!!

Hostgator = India ?

Update : All the money received starting from Feb 1st irrespectove of the type of the transaction has been reversed and sent back to the buyers. This is just classic and the customer care has no knowledge about it.
