Occupy Wall Street

on the brightside, I am proud that people are protesting. People in the USA have been taking it in the ass and not saying shit for awhile now.

in France when the government steps out of line, people fucking revolt. USA needs to be more like that

Not at all. My >$150,000 still makes me pretty poor in the grand scheme of things. The reason I don't like these "protesters" because they are leftists, commies, white trash, bums, leeches, beggars, and other sorts of people that I dislike. Therefore, I dislike them, their movement, their message, and everything they stand for. They are mostly all bums and losers who think everyone owes them something, fuck 'em. Nothing I hate more than a worthless fuck who thinks everyone else owes them something.

It's not that black & white though (never is). What about the young guy who decided following his passion was more important than money, and drowned himself in debt to become a chemist, physicist, biologist, or whatever? Now he's $60k in debt, can't find a job in his field, and is realizing he's getting fucked with a giant red, white, and blue pole harder & harder every day by the banks and corps. And these are the guys that come up with neat things like penicillin, the internet, flight technology, etc.

Can't really just pass them all off as lowlife deadbeats looking for a handout, because that's simply not true. Everyone wants a good, comfortable life, but not everyone's passion is to make as much money as they possibly can. Simple fact is, the US economy sucks, and it's no secret the banks and corps have been raping & pillaging as much as they can for decades now. Although I don't give a shit about some pink haired girl with googly eyes screaming, "i'm a unique individual! listen to me!!!!", you gotta admit, the point in general is something to be pissed about. Thieves are making out with hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer money, and destroying the middle class in the process.

As for being patriotic, you think I don't like the protesters because they are not patriotic? Lol, hardly. I give as many fucks about this country as it gives about me which computes to exactly none.

Nah, I just mean when people protest in other countries, the citizens many times will say, "well, you know, they have a point and have a right to have their voices heard". When people protest in the US, the more likely reaction is, "fucken deadbeats wanting a handout!", or maybe, "fucken losers! if you hate the US so much, get the fuck out!".

The government and corporatists love your attitude. They realize that society is loaded with morons, therefore any type of movement that gets big enough will have plenty of morons within its ranks.

If there is even one tiny logical point made by these protesters, the government and corporatists don't want to have to address it, so people like yourself do them a favor by using a broad brush to dismiss the whole thing.

Anonymous are a big part of this and a lot them are probably hippies, but they are also computer geeks that might have a lot in common with you.

Libertarian types have also been part of the protests.

I can't believe I read this thread and saw not one idea on how to bank off this. What is WF coming to?

Hard to sell ringtones, quiz and zip submits when your demographic is out on the streets and in jail.

I would be willing to bet that the majority of these people are on some sort of welfare, or have no real skills to make money, therefore they just want to punish the achievers. They dont want to make more money, they just want to see people with money have their money taken away.

Also, coupled with the recent comments by several people in the Obama administration, that North Carolina governor, and Obama himself, it is kinda freaky. We could me moving toward a dictatorship, and no one realizes it or seems to care.

This could be somewhat accurate, as it's a common mindset. Although, I have no idea how you guys are able to discern that the majority, most, or all of these people are on welfare or are generally dumb useless slobs? Regardless, there are surely some of the types that are being described at the protest. So what? I do not care what their personal beliefs or lives consist of, we have common interests--we are all being fucking robbed--we need all the help we can get, so both of our places in society are preserved.

What are you basing this speculation off of? The homeless and welfare recipients tend to not even vote, let alone pay attention to activist groups, or travel to their events.

A lot of these people look like typical college students, and this is right up the alley of certain groups on campuses. College students end up earning more on average and tend to come from families with above average incomes.

Steve Jobs and Richard Branson lived in communes, and Steve Wozniak was also a hippie. They are extreme cases of success, but the point is that if they had been born years later and lived in the NY area, this is quite possibly something they would be taking part in. Branson was actually in NY a few months ago as part of an event promoting the legalization of drugs.

No secret the country is fucked and doesn't give a shit about it's citizens. Civilizations, in general, suffer from this problem. The US was just another fucked up concoction that just so happened to allow for freedom more so than the others. You should somewhat appreciate that you were born here rather than Africa. Sounds like you are the one looking for fucking recognition from your country, "oh, my country doesn't care about me, so i will ignorantly
perpetuate a useless dogma, that doesn't do shit but create negative perspectives, and justify my ignorance and apathy"

dude, you do not know these fucking people---why so much negativity towards them? it is nothing more than your ego over reaching.

You do realize your mindset is the direct result of marketing? Non-conformist conformist.

lol I was talking to my brother the other day about how it would be funny to set up some bizop and grant sites about it and walk over and flood the place with them.

I don't know. Based just on reading a lot of placards on a lot of websites it looks like a bunch of idiots who don't know crap about anything when it comes to economics and the real world. I like Wall Street, made some good money there over the years and still turning a profit so I don't want those peasants shutting it down.

However, I do like a good fight so I'm looking forward to this movement spreading and turning violent. What we really need is some shock and awe handed to the state thugs.

Erin Larkins, a Columbia University graduate student who says she and her boyfriend have significant student loan debt, was among the thousands of protesters on the bridge. She said a friend persuaded her to join the march and she's glad she did.

"I don't think we're asking for much, just to wake up every morning not worrying whether we can pay the rent, or whether our next meal will be rice and beans again," Larkins wrote in an email to The Associated Press. "No one is expecting immediate change. I think everyone is just hopeful that people will wake up a bit and realize that the more we speak up, the more the people that do have the authority to make changes in this world listen."
Um, what changes?

Edit:

A core group of about two hundred people remain camped throughout the week. They sleep on air mattresses, use Mac laptops and play drums. They go to the bathroom at the local McDonald's. A few times a day, they march down to Wall Street, yelling, "This is what democracy looks like!"
Ahahahahahahaha man what the fuck.

Hey guys I just bought occupywallstreet.info what do? Current plan is to affiliate survivalism shit on it.

These are people with bongo drums, who sleep in the open on air mattresses, and use the McDonalds bathroom. Doubt they're interested in survival gear.

I don't know, do something stupid like start a campaign to fire Ben Bernake. "Donate $5, and help fire Ben Bernake now!". Then make up a few pages of bullshit, throw in some legal sounding paragraphs, and that should be enough.
