Nutritional supplements for working out

What are people's thoughts on drinking half gallon/gallon of milk a day?

I would take a look at this before consuming that much milk per day

The NOTMILK Homepage! (MILK is a bad-news substance!)

There are other, more productive, ways to increase calorie and protein intake than by adding large quantities of milk in your daily diet.

For instance, adding a tablespoon (or 2) of extra virgin olive oil to your protein shakes is a great way to increase calorie count and healthy fat intake.

and you're telling me that a protein setup like this would be too difficult to consume?

Yep. Sometimes, I can eat 4 meals a day and feel fine. But other times, I'm just not hungry.

What I posted initially, is an example of one of the days when I just don't feel like eating much.

Besides, with the technologies used to isolate and refine protein powder these days, it's not really a big hit health-wise. I heard that in the past, protein supplements were really bad for the liver. But now, that stuff is not as harmful. And as long as you get enough veggies for vitamins and carbs for the energy, then you should be fine.

In other words, I don't see the downside.

And when people talk about it costing a lot (which for some reason a lot of people who work out mention), well it comes down to something like $100 worth of powder per month for me. It's not such a gigantic sum of money. So I don't see what's all the fuss is about.
