Hello affiliates in Illinois,

An advertising tax bill has been proposed in Illinois (SB 3393). If this tax passes, we predict over 100 advertisers may terminate their affiliate programs with Illinois publishers. Please help to fight this legislation in your state!

Our effectiveness in fighting legislation that directly harms the income of affiliates will depend on your support. The PMA will be coordinating a targeted grassroots campaign, and we need help from all Illinois affiliate marketers. As stupid as this state is it will probably pass.
Good thing I'm 10 minutes from Missouri.
 
Those shitty legislators, they don't know that is a real new economy, they want only the way to pay their public employees and hope that in this way unemployment rate will lower.

Just signing up is not enough. Start sending letters to the state reps and senators. This worked for us here in CO. It's a lot of work though.
 
Living in a state that owns the record for political corruption in the Governor's office, why does this shit not surprise me in the least... actually been watching other state's deal with this and I had this gut feel our dickweed "leaders" would try the same.
 
I live in NC and while Amazon kicked us out (I've worked around it), nobody else seems to care. Amazon's affiliate program blows anyways.

So it has barely affected me.

I moved & reorganized my business in VA, just to find this shit happening in VA too. Enough already.
 
used to live in Chicago, now I moved to the south where they don't know what a computer is so I'm safe. but I'll sign up and bitch to reps anyway
