NEW Facebook Ads

Nothing like waking up in the morning to find that FB blew nearly half my daily budget on one ad with a horrible CTR. Meanwhile, the 50+ ads with a better CTR got next to no impressions.

Anyone know what's up with all the "make a baby" ads? Doesn't look like they're being run through a CPA network because there don't seem to be any redirects - just goes straight to the advertiser page. They're on literally every page I see; I even saw two at the same time. Seems to be a mobile offer that has the user subscribe to some celebrity trivia @ $9.99/mo. No links for affiliate programs, or even any links for T&Cs, About, etc.

The images they're using are probably getting great CTR and I can see the offer converting decently for younger audiences. Would be even better if they had an aff program.

hmm.. bidding above the suggested CPM range and not getting impressions. Anyone experience this before? The only thing I can think of is that my budget is like $10.

my partner has been copping this today:

* The content advertised by this ad is restricted. Per section 5 of Facebook's Advertising Guidelines, this content is prohibited from being advertised on Facebook. We reserve the right to determine what advertising we accept, and will not allow the creation of any further Facebook Ads for this product. Ads for this product, service or site should not be resubmitted. We appreciate your cooperation with this policy.

No rebill, non health. seems they are locking down again.

I get this too...for a tame dating offer I have been promoting for 12+ months. Makes no sense.

Then again they decline all my ads that refer to people that are 50+ as "senior" also. I mean WTF, isnt that what they are?

I also recently got my Christian dating ads declined for using the word "christian" even though I am promoting a christian specific dating offer and even targetting "christian" keywords.

This "user attribute bullshit is getting crazy.

The reason for high CTR ads being disapproved is because, since they are shown to more people and more people respond to them, the amount of users "x'ing the ad out" is obviously higher due to statistics. Meaning, your dating ad that claims to go to a free dating site probably has a lot of angry assholes that got ripped off and Xs your ad out. This alerts facebook to delete it.

yah sorta, once a certain # of people complain about an ad ( they got nothing better to do) then fb shuts it down. and they review ads with a high ctr, cuz chances are its bending some rule.

Dude im wondering the same shit, I have been looking all over for this fucking offer today bc I know who ever is running those ads is making a killing.

However I think that the make-my-baby site is just an awesome in house lander by PlayPhone. After checking "Playphone" in O202 I found this (no tracking...). Its the only offer in Offers202 so im guessing make-my-baby.com is not an offer.

**Ringtones, Games, Videos, Pics**

If they knew enough to create a great lander like that, they probably knew that they could keep 100% of the ballin' ass profits they are making running the ads themselves. Right now in my live feed there are 3 mentions of the baby pics people got.

^For once I'm gonna have to disagree with you. I notice my average CPM go down a tad when the ad has a high CTR.

I just gotta say... the new conversion tracking reports... ARE FUCKING WORTHLESS.

Not only do they fail to even calculate conversion rates properly, it's lagged to shit, and doesn't show up any even remotely useful tracking for nearly 48 hours... but they didn't even think to realize people might want to see the conversion rates in the profile or demographic reports.

Idiots... just idiots... they should add a feedback button to beta features to take the effort out telling them how stupid they are.

yeah you are right, ive noticed that too. I was talking in terms of getting traffic :D

my bad for not clarifying

I have noticed it time and time again for traffic. Now granted if you have 10 ads and they are all similar CTR, no one will probably not get way more traffic, but if you are talking the difference between an ad with a 0.10% CTR VS a 0.20% CTR for CPM bidding then yes it will get more traffic.

I have proven this time and time again in my account. So far as the ad with the higher CTR spending thousands of dollars a day versus $10, $20 for the lower CTR ads.

Unless someone can explain that another way with the EXACT same bid. Has happened to me more times than I can count.

That's the thinking behind "Engagement Ads," the new "experimental" advertising technology that social network Facebook unveiled last week. With the new program, members of Facebook can leave comments on participating ads, add the brands to their list of "fan pages," and use them to send friends virtual gifts. For the social network it's a small but important trial as it continues to combat the common wisdom that sites of its ilk can't survive on ad revenue.
