NEW Facebook Ads

Has anyone here been experiencing CPCs doubling, tripling,
or even quadrupling? My CTRs are solid at .3%+ for most ads
and click prices have been steadily increasing for me. Even on
new campaigns where the CTRs were GREAT go from $0.05-0.10
CPC go to $0.30.

My ads are in the US.

I would wait until the next day to see if the bids start to get lower. I use to get a CTR of 0.47 which use to be around 0.06 -0.08 but it went up to 0.11. Pretty much it got more expensive. I had to optimize it and i got it to 0.51 CTR and now i am paying paying 0.07 just keep optimizing or testing. FB did get expensive and it just means you need to optimize more and test more. Sucks for the newbie affiliates I guess.

.47 and .51 CTRs?

What the hell products are you guys promoting and what type of image+copy are you using!

And yes, I'm well aware of the fact that I'm writing this like I'm expecting you to tell not just me, but everyone else here too :)

I'm a newbie to FB ppc - I didn't realise .47 and .51 ctr were good rates! I have a few ads, yet to make money, with those ctrs, which I was just about to give up on.

Dupois - well .47 and .51 CTRs are great, but if they're not converting then that is more important at the end of the day.

Dupois - like everyone else is saying in this thread, you need to worry about CPC against EPC and little else.

And be aware of teh banhammer

Would anyone care to share how they go about coming up with ideas for targeting ads outside of typical city/state/age/etc. I know you can pick people that "like" a group or keywords, etc. but to be honest, I am at a mental block and just don't get where people come up with their list to test with?

I considered picking the largest 100 fan pages and split testing that. Am I going in the right direction or can someone help me understand where to start?

You have to play psychologist. Once you have some data on an offer and know 1 or 2 specific demographics that it does well for it's time to get creative and get in there heads. What does your demo like, why are they on facebook, what would they be sharing with there friends, what would they be liking to seem cool in there social crowd, who are some of the top artists/sports/actors/comedians/figures that that demographic looks up to or follows.

There's no magic button, it's just about being a creative marketer.

I'm so frustrated I can't get anything above .03% CTR... I'm not making use of this $30k/day account... makes me feel like just going back to SEO again

can't get over 0.03%? Are you bidding CPM because if so, that's normal

Nope, bidding CPC, broad targeting male married 26-29 for example. Nothing over 0.03 been trying for 2 weeks uploading ads every day. 95% are approved.. maybe that's a sign my ads won't work? They don't approve ads that work, right? lol

Same thing happened for me. Instead of getting my .02 acpc i've been getting .06-.08acpc and thats really taking away from my ROI big time! Had to get a pay bump because of this. If higher prices weren't enough... I'm also getting a considerably less amount of impressions than I did in the past few weeks.

broad targeting is why. Have you tried using keywords/interests so your ad is only being shown to people who care about your offer?

Anyone having trouble getting impressions today? Haven't had a problem like this in ages. My ads are getting very limited impressions.

Anyone else seeing big differences again between clicks Facebook shows and your own tracking? FB shows 6481 clicks so far for today while I've only gotten 6027... Big difference!
