My SEO trip to heaven or HELL

the ups and downs

So been away now for a week due to other business in London. Writing this on the flight back to Sweden, yeah I know ad tech starts this week but made a huge miss calculation in scheduling so it will have to be next time.

I have had an interesting week business wise. I have been doing regular check ups on my sites but haven't done any link building at all and I kind off miss it.

What's stuff has happened then .

1. Made $250 last week on one off the sites
2. The offer got paused on the sunday due to payment issues. They started it back up today.
3. Got my hosting account hacked so all my sites were down for about 24 hour on the monday.
4. Got my computer raped by some cocksucking black hatter sneaking a trojan on my computer that detected "viruses" and the only option to remove it was to buy their anti virus software. Yeah right how stupid do they think I am. Took me 1 hour to find the solution and a few more hours to scan and clean it out.
5. Realised that even how wonderful women are, they are at the moment a big distraction from getting shit done.

My sites are still doing well in the rankings. I have done so much random link building to all off them, that they move up in rankings and links have been coming in all week.

What I will focus on right now the closest days is the content that I have on the sites. One off them just have some random seo'd article on them so I could rank on, and need to be changed out with proper copy.

I got an awesome email that let me know that I from tomorrow have access to and can use, link farm evolution, xrumer, bookmarking demon and few more tools. So the internet need to watch out this coming weeks ;)

I'm coming back now and I'm hungrier then ever, I think that is the good thing about taking breaks like this. So my goal now is to do efficient work 6 days every week for 4 weeks until it is Vegas time again :)

What comes up comes down, and up again.....

oh boy...


This last week has been most interesting a lot off coffee and a few hours online with blue host technicians.


So let's recap what has happened. end of last week was fucking kick ass I was back from a party week in London and ready to rock..

Blog number one was still banking and pretty good actually, it managed to give me $500 in two weeks :) that was until the trouble started.

I started to notice some issues in the wp-admin panels on my blog, got errors in my php code. I have had this issue a week or so before and knew what was up but not to what degree. I had been hacked :( I knew since before that some cocksucker had manage to run some script to and insert an iframe on my sites that messed things up. The crew at bluehost cleaned it up last time, at least that's what i thought.

Well this time everything I had crashed 3 domains with site and one where I have installed PIWIK... I ended up on the phone asap and my friend over at BH now did I check in the logs while we were talking and we noticed that somebody in Russia had my cpanel password and was downloading and uploading while we were talking. FUCK ME SIDEWAYS, that was a 10 character password with small and big letters numbers and and special characters. So we had a look at my stuff and he ad literary fucked everything over :( we did spend almost three hours on the phone messing around back an fourth since this dude have had my password for a few weeks now :( YEahh for international calls ;)

in the end... I had to tear down all the sites reinstall wordpress get new databases for two off them and re upload content and do everything :( that took a few cups off coffee......

Whats the consequenses???? Yeah I have been dropping in and out in the SERPS like a god damn Yo-Yo and not making any money. The site that was banking good got a nice competitor that came out off the blue and took my spot, but I checked his links out and they are 70%-80% blogcomments so that shall be easy to beat.


Yeah,after I have teared down my sites re uploaded them in 95% the same way as before so am I hungry to rank the shit out of them again...

So the site that is making me money, was sitting in google holding 3 and 4 pos had about 50 daily visitors and converted about 1.1 times per day. The best part is that the keyword doesn't get any traffic according to google.
The follow up question would be WTF would I even try to rank that then. WELL it's the first site that I did just before this thread and the first time I ever touched a SEO project. I chose the keyword because I wanted to be sure that I could rank it really easy so I could get a feeling for what it could be like, and then shoot for the sort tail KW. I will still do this but I didnt think I would make any money ranking it on the long tail that is the domain name and product name.

I also had a really long conversation to a really good friend off mine that has been doing strictly paid search and is starting up in SEO. The conclusion that we both came to is that SEO is far from as advanced that we both first thought.

I now have the reason why tons off people fail at it :) they don't follow trough with the grind off it. I know tons off people that get easily bored of the constant link building that adn the wait with no actions.

I myself have ZERO patience and will pester people around me on AIM whenever things go shit. I always get the same answer and it has been true every time... CHILL OUT it's just dancing around in the SERPS.... SO thanks both Dchuck and Grindstone


And now back to work some more... I know I said in the beginning That I would build minimum 50 links per day, and I don't do it consistent like that anymore I usually do way more then that And I havent fully automated services creating about 200 links each day plus all the extra manual labor I', pulling so I have no idea off the exact numbers. I do pull alot off work with scrapebox right now :)

Hmm where are we now in this tale of ups and downs? Well Nothing has really been the same since I had to tear down my sites and upload them again. I didn't really upload all off them the exact same way so that was aware that it was gonna be in stable.

The site I have that was making money is ab it down in the serps at the moment since I chose to send some nice xrumer links straight on it ;) I got shot down on page 50 :( but it has slowly started to climb again. I was up at the top for one day before I got knocked down by the G man. I keep a steady eye on the top 3 and it is very turbulent when I look at my competition and there has been a new number one every day for the last week. I cant see any reason or pattern behind as well. Almost everything on Page one has been on top position so far. I assume that I will climb back up there pretty soon again. OR I might have been sandbox (I rarely doubt it though)

The strategy I now have set out to use kuudos Grindstone is 500 daily blasts with drip feed blast, I deep link and then setup My internal linking structure to have every page point to my main domain. It is the opposite off what my competitors are doing. I then ad quality links manually. I aqquired a nice pack off HIGH PR links in the sidebar of nice site 20 in total on PR 4-6 pages :) I also adding daily blog comment links on auto approve blogs where I drop my anchor text instead of my name since its auto approve. I have also created a nice set of squidoo lenses that I will use as a buffer for shitty blog comment links since I run scrapebox 24/7 searching for nice auto approve blogs :)

I have also juts recently found out an FREAKIN AWESOME way to find nice high PR links that I will be adding as well to my money site....

I have done one more start ups this week as well, and I have looked at my competition that I keep running into and I decided to try to to the site structure the same way. ONE page :) He or them just have on page and that's it, so I'm gonna try to rank a really thin site to see the difference. I Think I have this startup phase nailed down, There are a ton off automated featues that helps out a ton. When I have all this services so I have a really streamlined start-up process for minisites. I still do "quality" Links manually and shoot them down with Scrapebox links and I mess around a bit with SE PUKE and send their links on buffer sites I have set up.

I still work practically 24/7 and will do this hustle until I do $100 profit per day then will I take 2 days off :) NAH joking I probably will want to make most out of the situation and try to make more :)

OS back to today's title, What keeps me going? I got that question a few days ago and I asked myself. The conclussion that I got is that I just look at making it in IM as come thing as certain as eating dying sleeping, Never for one second questioned if I should be doing this or not. The question about quitting never comes up on the table. I do bitch alot and loose sleep wehn things goes south on my sites. That's when I cry adn bitch to friends on messenger only to here "relax" the site is only dancing around it will be back, guess what? It always comes back :)

So the rankings off my site are all over the place I have sites on first page for low volume terms but no site is generating money just now and we will see where i will take them. I sat down with friend on skype and came to a stoploss I have on my project now. If a site is not cash Positive after 6 months and I dropped $1,500 in it so will I ditch it.

I do take breaks though I did yesterday I only ran scrapebox and did nothing serious as I was tired as slave :( back on the track today and ready for some manual linking in a bit :)

That was my rambling thoughts after this week off chaos..

Can you give some details on how you got hacked, so that we can try to prevent that from happening to us? Or do you not know how you got hacked?

I was trying to decide between SENuke, backlinks genie or layered links - your review of senuke made my mind up to toss that one out of the running, thanks =)

Yo... the weekly update in between the grind.

It has been a most interesting week for me and I really like it.....

My sites has stabilzed themself since the major fuckup off being hacked which really messed me up, adn to answer the question to how I know I was hacked..

Well it first started with that I had some smaller errors and i talked with the support at the hosting company and he looked trough the wp pages. He noticed iframes inserted here and there and that what was made him say that I was hacked since it was common when you have been hacked.

I later noticed it when Everything went properly to shit since the support then looked at my logs for login on my ftp and noticed that somebody was downloading and uploading files LIVE when iw as on the phone with him.

How to avoid it, he said (his theory) that they probably entered trough old version of wordpress that I had installed. It was common that scripts could find security holes in both older WP installs and older plugins. SO keep your shit up to date.

Well why was this week so good?

It actually started out like shit, I for some reason didnt realize that my so far earned commission that I earned would be payed out next payment and not in the end off the month, I got it changed to net 15 now :)

So I was broke when it comed to paying for linkbuiliding which I prefer to do today. That meant that I needed to brainstorm and hustle, and it turned out really fucking awesome http://www.wickedfire.com/links-seo/103873-brute-force-blog-commenting-anchors-review-inside.html (I know shamelss plug, but it's my thread so WTF) I started that service for a few reasons.

I enjoy messing around with spamming alot, I actually think that it will be my forte ;) I have done it to a quite extent now and have built myself quite a list now that I can use and Im growing it like cray. The thread has been alive for one week and I have had a crazy amount off response, I justs started it to make some change for content and some other small stuff. It turns out it will cover all my link building costs and will make a descent profit from it as well if It keeps up like this.

I'm not making a ton off money right now off my sites but I have a few conversion per week, but I havent done too much linkbuilding either. I have stopped to trough absolutely everything at them like I did in the start. I know have the money to buy practically anthing I want from BST here in WF now. So Im gonna set a side a minumum off $500 every month plus content, and be way more tactical in my approach now. I'm not SEO wiz yest (far from). But I have started to get a feeling off what works and not, which feels good..

Only three more days of work now then am I off to VEGAS for 8 days :) to become the most decadent Swede ever set his foot in the Nevada Desert (its usually quite easy, god I love drunken American chicks) So If I don't write until then take care and peace out.

Great blog posts. Keep them coming. I can't believe you do all of this work yourself. I always hire people off of Odesk to do this stuff for like $10. My only problem is that I don't really have any quality control. It's like turning a bunch of monkeys loose on 10 typewriters.

What happened then?

So here we are 2 months after this thread died out with too much noise going on, so what happened did I give up or just didn't care wasn't I'm for me?

The last post i made her was the night before I went to a 8 day trip to Vegas with my other job.

Well to cut it short I ended up with some personal and personal issues that made me re-priorities what was important for me and the blog just didn't make the cut.

I am very grateful that I did start this thread late this summer because It really made me take responsibility to man up and work on my sites that I started. I recommended it to anybody that are staring out with any venture online. I have messed around all year and made some small cash here and there but never really noticed any sort off consistency.

I Have that today, I'm not a millionaire but I ended up with $2600 last month in profit and I'm quite proud off that. Now my sites were about $1200 off that the rest I made with providing services for other people.

A qucik look back and maybe hwat i ahve learned, I basically wen to my aff networks adn grabbed the name off all the rebills they had did the keyword research based upon the productnames and not nthe niche. I found some really nice offer and I think I managed to launch about 4 site during the thread was alive and 2 off them went on doing really well. I just needed to rank them within top 3 and they started to make some money :) I learned a lot and I'm still learning every day.

Right now so do I know that I am capable off making sites with putting in the elbow grease doing it manually but I'm really curious to automatic I can make the process, so I started a new challenge with myself.

I just setup 4 new sites 1 page of content a piece of copy optimized SEO optimized on the product name I have domains that are direct matches or hyphenated matches.

I started them out with 150 automated low quality social bookmarks. I followed that up with 500 daily Xrumer blast with DFB and its still running. As I left that running for 3 weeks so did I just recently just add drip feed articles with Unique article wizard. I will in next week go to UAW and find which ones off my submission actually got approved and pic them out and start a raging Scrapebox campaigning on them all. I will then sit down and evaluate with sites that I think are worth my time and money.

I just assume that I will ditch 2 off the sites. the first thing I will do is to start adding content because I noticed while its easy to rank thin spammy affiliate sites so are they also very volatile in their SERPS. So the solution start adding content and focus on the internal linking structure as well :)

So am I an SEO pro yet? NO I dont think I ever will call me that, I do however really really enjoy trying to rank shit and I think I have started to get a descent grip on what does work and not work. the biggest thing you all need is freaking consistency and just sticking in there and doing the legwork. SEO is not rocketscience.

So I'm gonna drop on here in week or tow to drop a line or two about my automated rankings to see if It worked at all the way I wanted.
