It's streaming radio music with stuff I _never_ hear on local radio stations. Their Top 40 includes some stuff that is more popular in the UK or other countries because it's often the first time I've heard the song when I hear it on these stations.

They've also got a lot of other stations to suit whatever you're in the mood to listen to.

If I listen to stuff with lyrics I just end up bouncing from artist to artist looking for new stuff, I need things I can listen to but not be distracted by if I want to get into a good coding session. Lately I play a lot of The Social Network score, the scores from the Halo games (better than you'd think) and The Fountain movie score is pretty good.

Since I happen to be listening to Breaking Benjamin right now here is a pretty bad ass Depeche Mode cover from their greatest hits compilation that dropped last week.

Older jazz is usually good for staying out of my way too, Sinatra, non-lyrical stuff from guys like Charles Mingus or CDs like "Kind of Blue" work well. Contemporary jazz vocalists doing old standards are another favorite that leave me alone while I work (I've got a serious boner for Jane Monheit).

Agree with this. Only exception for me is radiohead's later stuff.

Jazz piano virtuoso covering Paranoid Android (it's 10 minutes but do yourself a favor a give it a listen).
