Move to Puerto Rico and pay no taxes?

Based on your faulty logic, Florida, Nevada and Texas are undesirable because they have tax incentives to bring in people and corporations.
The tax incentives offered by Puerto Rico and the tax incentives offered by Florida/Nevada/Texas are not comparable at all. I'd be on my way to one of those three states in a heartbeat if they offered the tax incentives being offered by Puerto Rico.

You're seriously telling me that Puerto Rico is not offering these tax incentives (which include requirements about hiring people) because of the absolutely horrible economic conditions that are going on in Puerto Rico right now?

Heck, have you ever lived outside of Baltimore or wherever you're from?
Yes.

Again this is just pure ignorance. It's clear you've never been there because you have no idea what you're talking about. A tiny enclave? Please.

I've spent significant time there, and have talked at length with people who've lived there for years, and if I had to pick a number off the top of my head I'd say that 80% of the island is relatively safe like most US cities.
Where in Puerto Rico are you be looking at and what is the homicide rate there?

I'm not trying to sell PR to anyone.
I was brought back into this discussion when you said "you're just as likely to die in a car crash in the US as you are to be murdered in PR", which sounds like something I'd read on a lander for a Puerto Rico travel agency.

But they are the comparable.

The tax incentives are to get people and companies to relocate to those states. Texas has been big in recruiting business.

According to you if they offer tax incentives it's because the area sucks and no one wants to live there.

Now you're saying you would move to one of those states if the tax incentives were good enough. Why not move for the sake of moving? Is it not a nice enough area to move too without the tax incentives?

You're contradicting yourself in a big way.

I never said anything as to why they are offering the tax incentives. Of course they are offering it as a way to bring employment to the country.

Just like the states I listed.

That, in itself, doesn't make it a shit hole as you stated.

But not overseas, right? Based on your posts I didn't think you lived outside the US. Your posts smack with the usual American ignorance when it comes to living outside the American enclave.

You are right, from that one sentence you plucked out you cannot deduce that Puerto Rico is a shit hole. That is why I wrote more than one sentence.

America is not an enclave, and Puerto Rico is a part of America, but I'll keep on being ignorant.

They only way to know if a place is a shit hole is to go there.

Crime statistics are misleading because most of the crime involved tends to be in specific areas and from specific illegal activities such as the drug trade.

I came from a city, in the US, that had bad stats when it came to violence. That violence was mainly gangs killing each other and had no affect on our lives because it was contained within an area of the city that we were never in.

I have seen the same within the other countries I lived in and visited. It isn't anything new.

America is not an enclave.

Sure it is, most states all look the same. Crappy strip malls, crappy chain restaurants, people driving everywhere to their crappy jobs... There are very few cities, within the US, that has it's own charm. Most all are just the same, same.

Puerto Rico is a US territory to be exact but it's up to you if you want to continue being ignorant. Some people enjoy experiencing the world while others enjoy reading about it.
