More adwords bans coming tonight and tomorrow..

In all seriousness, I haven't run a single ad on adwords since November 2008. At the time, it was a rebill but I only ran it for about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. Since then I haven't touched my account other than voluntarily deleting those ads.

Yesterday I was banned from Google Adwords.

lol.

rofl i swear to god fuck google.

Cheap Windows VPS (with RDP) FTW.

This actually brings me to ask another question along the lines of paranoia:
Even though I have whoisguard on my namecheap domains, can Google (also a registrar) usurp the whoisguard information?

No.

Being a registrar doesn't give you any technical advantage to harvesting private registrations. It gives you the ability to do bulk public lookups using private APIs, and farm out your own private registrations.

If you registered your domain with google, and they control the privacy shield, then yes they can see it.

If google ever bought a private registration firm, or buttraped one into submission, they would have access to it's data.

But do I still stay paranoid about it and think you should use fake info? Yes.

Here's what I get the most paranoid about (view>>source on namecheap.com):
Code:
<script src="https://ssl.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript">
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
_uacct = "UA-69192-5";
urchinTracker();
</script>

You can't tell me they don't know who owns my domains even though I whois guard them.

Was the website/landing page of the site you advertised through google still active in the past 1-2 months?

google is such a bunch of assclowns- they banned me months ago, wouldn't explain the reason at all, and yesterday send me a note saying please come back as an adsense publisher (also banned this at the same time) and sent me a $200 adwords credit.

Uh- so you morons want my money or not?

Fuck 'em - I'll toss sacks of gold to those who actually value my business. Not like google's users don't go elsewhere on the interwebZ

Ha ha..you too. I'm not banned from adsense, but I am banned on Adwords and they sent me a $100 credit to use on Adwords. WTF...heads up their asses over there. One department has no clue what the other is doing.

That GA code from namecheap isn't going to let google know your private whois info.

Maybe. But I find it eerily strange that NameCheap has G Analytics on their protected pages. What's to keep G from pulling/parsing the URL of something like
hxxp://namecheap.com/RegisterNewDomain.php?domain=MyNewDomain.com
and matching that up with the access they have to my cookies.

I know it's a stretch but you can't say it doesn't/can't happen even though they claim to do no evil.

Hmm, that would be possible to do - match a query string to your IP, find your IP in the adwords blacklist. Damn.

Ok - here's to paranoia: Block all GA cookies then, hostblock their scripts, and only register your domains with your clean VPS/proxy IP.

Don't forget to lock yourself in your basement, where a tinfoil hat and only communicate in morse code....

Their "protected pages" are template based, so GA is on all of them because GA is in the templates. Tons of big companies use Google analytics for reporting because it is free and easy. I worked at a Fortune 50 company and we used GA in addition to Omniture because our analytics team was mad slow in getting use reporting. Too many conspiracy theories for you

Hmmm no actually. The domains are still active, but as I said, haven't been advertised on adwords since November 2008 - and all ads relating to those domains were deleted, by me, about 9 months ago.

Is Google saying that whatever pages I create and use for my own purpose (that are no longer being used on adwords and haven't been in um, almost a year) make me ban-able if they were ever used once on their system?

That sounds very big brother of them.

i find it ridiculous that google feels it needs to ban people based on what they ran (completely within their rules) in the past, now.
that give me so little faith in EVER running anything with them again in the future regardless of how clean the project is.

in other words google has thrown a good lifelong customer away, one who will undoubtably be as successful at ecommerce/whatever in the future as AM.
they seem to forget that todays AMs are tomorrows net entrepreneurs as we eventually move up the food chain.

idiots. i'll be continuing to build my empire on more stable ground, advertising wise.

one thing the last few months have taught me is life is far easier without google and income wise much better.

I haven't even logged into my Adwords account in about 9 months and am doing quite well without them. I've still got about 50 business cards from AdTech from traffic sources I haven't even had a chance to test yet, to go along with the ones I'm already running on. Why anybody running rebills bothers with those cocksuckers is a mystery to me. Not worth the headache.

here's the support email that i got back

Hello Nick,

Thank you for your email. I see you are concerned about drop in the
Quality Score of your ads.

Having reviewed your ad and site, we've found that it is currently
ineligible to run. Due to multiple complaints from our users and
publishers, we are disallowing certain categories of ads from being
syndicated on our networks. This includes, but is not limited to, certain
dieting and weight loss-related advertisements. Google strongly believes
in providing a positive and useful experience for users and advertisers.

Also, note that the low Quality Score of your keywords is because your
landing page quality is poor.

Users have consistently provided negative feedback on several types of
website. In our commitment to make AdWords as effective as possible for
advertisers and users, ads promoting these types of websites may receive
low landing page quality scores. In some instances, they will not be
allowed to run.

Website Types to Avoid

Dieting or weight-loss websites
Data collection sites that offer free items etc., in order to collect
private information
Arbitrage sites that are designed for the purpose of showing ads
Affiliate sites that the primary purpose of which is to drive traffic to
another site with a different domain

"Get-rich quick" sites
Malware sites that knowingly or unknowingly install software on a
visitor's computer
Poor comparison shopping or travel sites whose primary purpose is to send
users to other shopping/travel comparison sites, rather than to provide
useful content or additional search functionality

if you type in "acai berry" in google, there are only a few real affiliate sites left

i don't know why people are so crazy over those assholes at Google. Fuck them. There are tons of other traffic sources that even convert better lol.

i stopped using Google since 2007.

i would be using these sources of traffic if i knew of them.

facebooks hard to use with their compliance issues, googles dead, never really had any success with ysm or msn, im too cheap for media buys atm

im going to test out the new pof self serve

That's the real clincher right there. Google doesn't care what you are pushing.
If they perceive you're an affiliate of any type, bye bye.
Screw them.
