Million Dollar Business Ideas Thread!

I don't think Pull A Part offers franchises but you could start your own junkyard based on their model. You could also purchase a 1-800 Junk franchise. One I think would be interesting would be purchasing a Fedex Ground or Home route.

It'd be cool to start a phone repair place. I know it was mentioned but you could learn everything yourself for the first few months so you understand it 110% and then hire some geeks to take over from there. IMO, name yourself something like Phone Repair but also repair tablets, iPods, laptops, and TV's. All are easy 99.8% of the time. Also, guarantee your repairs with proof of receipt (97% will lose receipt within a week lol).

Power nap pods in any busy downtown location. Businessmen would pay for a half hour or 1 hour nap after lunch. You can even sell membership cards giving you X amount of hours monthly.

An online car selling site where users give some basic info on what kind of car they're looking for (sports car, mustang, benz, what color, year, how much they wanna spend, etc) and then let car dealerships send said user their best offers.

So I want a 2009 or newer car, black, V8, not American, with under 30,000 miles.

Now car dealerships and private parties can make me their best offer.

Said user then chooses the best deal that's offered to him. Think 99designs.com for cars.

Pretty much everything a normal online car selling site offers only the process is sort of reversed. Pretty sure it would work well if marketed properly and had people behind it with some good automotive industry connections.

CarWoo Raises $6 Million To Spare You The Car Dealership Blues | TechCrunch

Ycombinator backed, former AOL Auto exec running it...doesn't look like it's doing very well though.

CarWoo streamlines the car buying process by flipping the traditional model on its head. First, users head to the site, where they input the make, model, and trim of the vehicle they’re looking for. Dealers who have signed up with CarWoo can then compete against one another for that customer — naming their price (which the customer can counterbid on), and answering questions as well. So what about test drives? CarWoo CEO Tommy McClung says that a lot of people go to a local dealership to try a vehicle out, then head online when it’s time to actually buy the car

yeah huge profit margins in food if you do it right.

Chick-fil-a billion dollar company

In and Out Billion dollar company

Taco Bell (avg per item price less than $2) 500 Million dollar company

I've been looking into starting my own fast food place. no franchise though I don't want to pay royalties or any other bullshit fees.

A friend of mine used to be ops director for one the big BK franchises in the UK. He said it's far and away the most stressful environment he's come across, including his time in the military. He always asks people who say they'd like to open a restaurant "which Sunday will you take off per month?", because that's pretty much all the holiday they get, even if they find a decent manager.

It's very up-front capital intensive (equipment + leases), and has a fairly nasty working capital requirement due to how damn perishable everything is. Plus you have to deal with low paid staff who genuinely don't give a fuck and will steal from you at every opportunity.

But yeah, very profitable if you're prepared to deal with that. The smart businesses own the land, and just rely on the food to pay the mortgage. McDonalds has made a fortune in property.
