Make a Newbie Provider Section in the BST

Make all new providers post in a set category until they become eligible to post in the Vet area.

The BST in the links area is like a fucking slot machine very hard to keep up with all the bullshit newbs posts, and the review beggers, and the self promoting thread bumpers, scammer etc etc etc... I could keep adding to this list. It is basically turning into a cesspool.

Also 1 moderator for that area is not enough a few more would help the problem big time.

I spend a LOT of time there and do a lot of transactions, this shit needs to get fixed, and it would not take much.
 


i wouldn't mind patrolling BST and watching for spam... just stepping up if anyone needs to

From the participation in these 2 threads, if I were going to choose a mod it would be...

jryan21 - he gets straight to the point and has a good eye.
phrench - he also has a good eye and does not hesitate to call bullshit.
zingo - hate to self promote but yes I could do a good job - I spend at least 3 hours/day here.

I believe 3 would be a good number if we are all active.

I recommend zingo. If there are no issues on appointing a new Mod, Please Make zingo a Mod (If you are appointing someone additionally you may choose from the other two names suggested by zingo, they also have a good eye). He will take proper action against the scammers and the thread rule violators.

Also, why don't you make BST a paid section? That will keep the place free from scammers and any low quality products and services. Personally I will gladly pay a $25 (Even as monthly subscription) for a thread. Or may be we can have a paid section additionally!!!

I would recommend zingo to do mod for time equity on patrol served.

Who else? Anybody that has been righting decent reviews and spending time in a section buying and selling. Let 2 or 3 people do the sifting through the threads and post. Let them hand out some scolding, 1 day, 3 day, week banning to cut a lot of the nonsense out.

It sure would be nice to have a slow down on people taking reviews then writing bull.

A yes vote for the new section idea.
It would be reassuring if their work was reviewed in their thread when they start it and before release into the general BST section. By someone who would write some facts and description about the service.

It seems harder to buy services or buy with out getting taken in some way.
 
It's hard for both the buyers and the sellers now-a-days in the BTS section when scammers mark their entry. We need to open a new arena/section for the newbie sellers and when they qualify with their Itraders, posts, etc., they can be moved to the general BTS section.

Zingo has been going great with this issue and has been quite active. I really appreciate your afford Zingo. You have not only helped buyers but have also helped a lot of sellers from those thread bumpers. I will take a active look at this thread and will keep an eye on new replies..........

I really hope to see some good initiative from the WF Staff....
 
+1 for Zingo. He's selflessly donated a lot of time already to cleaning up the S/B/T Links section. And considering his devotion to the project, I'm sure the other two possibilities he recommends are good choices as well.
 
There is another problem with policing the BST section - the crybabies. Seriously they are just annoying and fight over petty disputes -- and if I show you the kind of PMs I get from service providers here you will feel like killing yourself.
 
I too would also reccomend Zingo as mod and i myself wouldnt mind either i am constantly watching the threads and i pretty much live on this forum. Like Zingo i am sick of the bs in this forum i think he would help clean up the trash as would i and we could use more moderators big time. Somthing needs to be done and fast . I am on this forum almost 10 hours a day and always calling the bs out. Problem is there shouldnt be any bs to call out thus why another mod would be a good idea.

And having a seperate section for newbies would be a great idea and if we did that we wouldnt need to have a paid section because they would be in thier own until worthy.

That would filter out the roaches

As a seller, I do not call out other services but I do see a lot of garbage being dumped in the BST. I am in favor of the newbie BST area. The only issue would be, what is the threshold to move from the newbie area to the big boys area? That needs some serious thought.

It needs to be a system that cannot be gamed such as post count. At the present a minimum iTrader would be the best stat to measure. However, that could be gamed as well by just buying a bunch of cheap services to build up your iTrader as a buyer. (Like the old ebay feedback could be gamed by buying $0.99 ebooks just for a positve feedback).

What would work better is if the iTrader counted toward measurement only if the user was the seller. But still any system will have faults. This could be overcome by a scammer by simply creating multi accounts and bumping the iTrader from the extra accounts. No system will be perfect but it will definitley be better than the free for all that is going on now.

I recommend Zingo as well. He spends more time buying services on WF than just about anyone.

I think its a great idea to have a reputable services section and a noob services section.
 
If I was 5 people, which i feel like I am sometimes, i would do +5 for zingo. He's always on the lookout, and is serious about keeping the BST section clean.

Seriously, make it legit and give him the damn moderator badge. He's already been doing it, on his own time!
 
Zingo and dchuck know their shit when it comes to services offered in the BST section. I don't know if dchuck would be up to it or not, but Zingo has already voiced his desire to participate. I myself would be fully capable, but I don't have time or the patience to deal with the dumbass service providers and BS that goes on there. Frankly I'm here to buy shit, not babysit. :P
 
My 2 cents about this story..

Well first off all the mod question isnt really that hard Zingo has been investing so much time with no real "powers" so far and It would just make the process so much smoother if he gained some authority and real power to dropkick some suckers straight away instead off just reporting them.

Then bigger questions, yeah I would def think that the BST could have newbie section with the one post wonders hosting some new stuff. The process off making somebody a "solid" service provider could be as "horrible" as just letting it be up to a mods judgment to grant them the honor(we do choose mods like Zingo because we do trust in his judgment, at least I do).

As a service provider myself I keep out of others threads but it's really tough sometimes to keep my mouth shut when I see some of the crap that's floating through here these days.

Give zingo mod powers in the B/S/T, dude is already doing the work. Giving him the banhammer would improve this place overnight.

I do like the idea of having a newbie sellers forum.
