You proposed more regulation. I got this from your post. The part that says:
lukep said:
...but when it comes to the one topic of education, I become authoritarian at heart... ...I personally want those problems solved first and foremost and feel the world would be unimaginably better off for it, but I am enough of a realist to see that there would be major downsides (like loss of freedom, etc) to attempt to bring it to be so.
Call me crazy, but this sounds like you are in favor of more/different regulation in the educational arena. So I argued based on what you wrote.
You're crazy. Or at least you see intention to act where only preferences exist.
Intentions to act words:
*Regulation
*Change the laws
*Pro-obamacare
*Reform
My words:
*At heart but...
*major downsides
*Not campaigning
WTF?
This is the perfect example of why I accused you of being in-congruent in your posts. First you say you want regulation,
Not true. You may think I want regulation, but I certainly have not said so nor called for it.
This is the whole problem, i'm afraid. You're misunderstanding my intentions, and you're not alone. Obviously stick2herbs, jonasBrother, and samgeneric are in the same boat.
...when arguments against it come up, you say you aren't necessarily in favor of it, and can't seem to get how we could have possibly read into your posts that way.
Very true. I still don't get it... But I'm seeing more and more capitalists coming out of the woodwork to take me on so I am sensing the pattern here... At least you're not alone.
I understand your real life stance might not be in-congruent, but your posts certainly seem that way. Which is also why I said not to judge you by your posts, they are likely coming off that way because they are not well thought out.
Or not well read?
The only hypothosis I have for you guys feeling like I'm some sort of commie in uncle sam's clothing is that you read me saying that something (like the PRODUCT of socialized medicine) is good, and take that to mean that I want socialized medicine itself here.
Nothing can be further from the truth. I see huge drawbacks to obamacare especially and frankly any socialized medicine being introduced to... wait for it... ANY Capitalist country.
Because capitalism-socialism hybrids suck.
There are huge benefits to socialism. (Face it, they exist.)
AND AND AND
There are huge benefits to Capitalism, too. -But of course we don't have those here because we're stuck in a sucky hybrid system.
So for the umpteeth time I'll say: In America we need more Capitalism.
I see no incongruent statements here at all... Only people who cannot follow this perfect logic.
P.S. I also knew you were going to want regulation for education because of how you started your sentence. Whenever people say "I want this problem solved" they generally mean "I want laws put in place to make me feel like life's problems are solved". The reason being, there is no solution to anything. Just a bunch of different options, each with pros and cos, but in my mind, in almost every case, the option of freedom has the least pitfalls.
Mine too. You're assuming too much. See above for why & how.
I will say I like the idea of voting down laws without representation. The internet era enables us to be able to do this. It would be awesome to see it put in practice.
Yeah, it's a fun thought but I shudder to think of the things this current citizenry would actually vote for without taking the time to learn about each side of every issue. -It's scary to say but perhaps that could turn out worse!
(Until we have some major education progress)
Hop in the fray then, PJ! Let 'er rip, I can take it...
People Like lukep can never admit to what they are, whether it be democrat, progressive, liberal, socialist, communist, blue dogs,RINO or whatever bullshit title they invent every time people catch on to what they are....
Jonas, I'll accept your apology as soon as you're done reading my outstanding defense of capitalism I pointed you at in the last thread.
Muslim Communist to be exact. lol
