I think one of the main reasons external images in signatures were banned were for this reason. Since it would open many peoples eyes, that they can just put an image in their signature and use it to cookie stuff (referral links?) and being as how big this forum is, one could make a lot of money.

That is all speculation though and I'm not taking any sides.

Nobody was stuffing anything. If you post an image on a forum that is hosted on your server, you can view which ip addresses viewed that image.
 


Why is it such a big fking deal about him collecting the IPs? IP address alone isn't enough to block affiliates, you know it, I know it and he knows it. I am pretty sure there is more in his algorithm than just IP block. Thing like checking browser history and block anyone previously visited a CPA network came to my mind. Anyways, I don't really give a fk.

It is funny to see all the whiners on the forum and I wonder how many have the balls to do it in person. We'll see what happens at ad tech san fran.

From what I've read the problem isn't blocking just affiliates the issue is also using those IP's to block a lot more than affiliates (including legit traffic) since the exact visitors from those IP's cannot be 100% completely verified (public, corporate, locations etc..).

Well I guess that answers my question, apparently some are.

Couple things:

- Privacy Protection is not $50. But we know you knew that.
- Actions by single registrars do not render them ineffective for everyone else.
- Unless you don't value your time, "C&Ds" are way more than $2.
- C&D? Really? Cease & Disclose? Could have sworn it was "Cease & Desist".
- Oh I get it, cease and desist hiding your real information.
- I will get your information 100% of the time. Your letter will not.
- Resident != Citizen

And please excuse my lack of understanding, pretending to be an English, ignorant schmuck and all, so please bare with me: I thought your reply in response to someone mentioning there not being privacy protection for .us domains was to offer a more expensive, more tedious and less effective solution. I realize I didn't get the nuances of your posts, what exactly was your point then?

I would not use or trust LPLockdown but das as far as it goes. Don't hate the hustle..hate the game.
