Losing money on Azoogle ringtone offers

It doesnt seem to me you would get any CTR high enough to sustain on adwords using keywords composed of artists names for a ringtone offer. Maybe .2 at best. What is your CTR on them?

I'm trying it out also. I figured if I can profit in this, I should do well with other offers Azoogle has. I also realized that there are still niches available in this ringtone offer. You just gotta be really creative.

CTR is too low - I totally agree. I guess I am too broad and have too much competition. I am probably failing to have enough creativity and variation in my keywords.

Chris

Got 13 clicks, 1 lead. Spent $1.03.

Not bad. I'm going to my expand my keywords a little more.

Anyone happen to know how often Adwords updates?

No its pretty creative ive never thought of doing that, but ive done things similar, and never get a high enough CTR. Keep thinking about it, i bet you can come up with something that works.

Heh how long did it take you to get that?

I spent all of yesterday doing this. I designed, coded, uploaded, and made sure everything was good to go for PPC marketing. Got onto adwords, entered over 5k keywords and wrote over 200 copies of ads. I'll add more later today once I finish studying for the exam tomorrow (school gets in the way SO FUCKING MUCH).

Well just checked Azoogle. Got 3 more clicks (spent 31 cents) and 1 more lead.

I just realized that if I can make 10 lead per day, that's over $100/day in revenue.

There's a lot of work you have to do in the beginning, but once you're done doing it, you just let it sit and let the money come to you. I'll have to do maintenance and check stats to see what's working and adjust to it.

Great lesson: you can still make money in oversatured markets. Now just think what you could do in an unsaturated one. Keep up the good work.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves in a get rich quick frenzy

You get one measly lead/sale and think your gonna be rich

One lead after 13 clicks is OK but nothign to write home about

If you can male 500 dollars a day of PURE PROFIT and sustain it for atleast a month then your doing pretty damn good.

Oh definitely. I don't consider myself good or anything yet, but I think I started PPC marketing with the right idea. I started it yesterday, but I gathered as much information as I can from blogs/forums before starting. Now I need to be creative and try developing my own ideas.

That is the lesson I have learned lately. I have started killing some very saturated markets, so I am believing I am going to be have even more fun soon.

By the way back to the original question... what is your average position ranking? Problem with going after artist names is the average person is probably not looking for a ringtone for that artist, necessarily, so the keyword is a bit off-target. Doesn't mean you can't make it work, but it does mean it is not as easy as if they were specifically looking for a ringtone of that artist, which would be spot on.

I think sometimes when you first start sending traffic to some of the offers, that they give you a free lead just to keep you going. Im not sure if this is true or not but, i noticed that sometimes when i start an offer i'll get a lead within the first few clicks i send and then i wont get another for a while. This happened to me for a couple ringotones offers ,online education offer, and some others.

First off, yeah thats hilarious, it does seem to work out like that, you say, wow 3 clicks one lead, then it turns into 300 clicks one lead, LOL. Also yeah man if it takes you one day to get 30 clicks and 2 leads, i cant really say thats great, but it is great to be optimistic. And as far as saturated markets, yep, ringtones, insurance, etc, are just simply hard to break even on. You have 200 advertisers on adwords for ringtones at any one time, and how many others have tried them and failed? 10,000+ so out of those how many of them have already thought about and tried your ideas? Its just too conventional, of course if you say you just started PPC thats what your going to go after right away. Unfortunately you will find eventually it just wont work, unless you get really unconventional. Maybe a little later when ive drank more ill give you a hint as to my PPC formula.

Good Luck!

Haha, you're absolutely right. What you guys were just saying happened to me. But it did teach me a lot though. Now I will have to find other ways to work this out.

Oh well, about $5 spent and I got 9 leads so I can't complain. I will keep trying though!

Thats pretty decent conversion, your doing something right. keep it up.

Yeah, at least I didn't end up losing money.

However, this failure (or mistake) has given me few ideas that *might* work. I think I'm *kind of* starting to understand what the big affiliate marketers are talking about. If one of these ideas do work, I will keep repeating it.

You really do learn a lot from your mistakes. Wow. I'm even more motivated to try things out. Hopefully, something will work out!

Cool man! Hopefully you are somewhat referring to what im saying, because i speak the truth. Im a big affiliate marketer, depending on what you call big I suppose, and all it took me was one big idea that worked. I said if i drank more tonight id say something so here, obviously offers that people have to enter a credit card are hard to profit on, which you guys surely know. So what do we have left. Ringtones, highly saturated. tough. Insurance. highly saturated. tough. Dating sites, same, unless you use unethical methods i suppose, which you will get caught for. Now youve got the one field offers, zips and email submits. Now you cant do an offer like say Free Pizza Hut for a year, And run a PPC campaign with the keyword pizza hut, and have your ad say "Free Pizza Hut for a year" Im sure you guys have tried that, for some reason the ctr is always way too low. Damn, I really almost said it, but I cant do it guys, look, I cant hold anyones hand, I really do make a lot of money, and i really want to help you guys out, ive been doing this for 4 years, a year ago i couldnt feed myself hardly, Now I live in a loft in Denver. The point is, you can dink and donk and make a few dollars, but the real money on PPC is thinking way, way, way outside the box, and still keeping it ethical and legal. Its very possible, just go ahead and throw all these conventional offers out the door right now, and get out right now if your going to think conventionally, cuz that worked 3 years ago, but now theres too much competition. I wish all of you the best of luck!

Havok

Thanks for the encouragement, You shouldn't reveal your secrets man, that will onlly kill your own profits. Just hearing it can be done gives me the energy to try harder, I really feel sometimes its my own negative attitude, like.."man, there is too much competition" "this market is already played out", that prevents me from giving it 100%.
