The headlines of the international press are a serious joke.
"Israel broke the ceasefire within 72 minutes"?!?! This is what I saw all over the news this morning. Total one sided and biased. What ever happened to impartial journalism?

To a lot of their credit a few hours later most were changed to reflect that it was unknown at that time why the ceasefire was broken, but still, why print such unsubstantiated shock lies?

By the looks of things it was actually broken by Hamas anyway (to be confirmed), oh and they kidnapped a soldier to boot.

Earlier on Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the IDF will complete the destruction of Hamas, no matter what.

"We are determined to complete this mission with or without a ceasefire," Netanyahu said at the start of a cabinet meeting in Tel Aviv. "I won’t agree to any proposal that will not enable the Israeli military to complete this important task for the sake of Israel's security."

You never take RT seriously, they lie about pretty much everything to push Putins agenda(lies about Ukraine etc). Iran is friends with Russia, this means RT will push Hamas agenda. Simplez.
 
Yeah, just thought it was quite amusing. RT is just a crock of shit Moscow mouthpiece who are rarely truthful no matter what cause they are championing.

well hamas had agreed to a 72 truce to end the hostilities.. an hour into it they blow up a suicide bomber and killed 2 soilders and kidnapped a soilder.. this is the 6th cease fire that hamas has now broken..

and this is a representive of the whole situation matt.. no matter how many ceasfires israel makes.. no matter that they dont occoupy gaza.. or have offered palastanians there own state on so many occasions.. means nothing.. there always attacked no matter what..

and of course when they respond strongly and palastanians die.. blame is auto put on israel..

The worst enemy to fight against (as US well knows) is someone who doesn't have anything to lose. And it seems like Hamas is such an enemy...and so are a lot of surviving Palestinians that have lost everything - their homes, their property, their family members and they have simply nothing to lose at this point.

Actually the worst enemy to fight against is an ideological one, especially one who does not fear death, but instead embraces it.
 
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today blamed Hamas for violating a 72-hour ceasefire in Gaza and demanded the immediate release of a 'kidnapped' Israeli soldier.

The humanitarian ceasefire, brokered by the United States and the United Nations in a bid to end the deadly 25-day conflict, was supposed to take effect at 8am (6am GMT) today.

But less than two hours after it began, it collapsed into a new wave of bloodshed when an Israeli soldier was reportedly captured by the militant group Hamas.

Now, Ban has condemned Hamas for allegedly violating the ceasefire in a 'grave' move that 'is likely to have very serious consequences for the people of Gaza, Israel and beyond'.

The UN chief also urged both sides 'to show maximum restraint and return to the agreed 72-hour humanitarian cease-fire that tragically lasted such a brief period of time', according to UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

'Such moves call into question the credibility of Hamas' assurances to the United Nations,' said Mr Dujarric. 'The secretary-general condemns in the strongest terms the reported violation by Hamas of the mutually agreed humanitarian ceasefire which commenced this morning'

'He is shocked and profoundly disappointed by these developments.'

Honestly instead of blowing each other up they should set up infrastructure so people are too busy to be hating each other. If people were playing WoW, fapping, or running IM campaigns, their priorities would change. lol

^ That's kinda what I mean, Israeli youth aren't strapping bombs to themselves, probably because they have opportunity to better themselves, go where they want, etc.

But yeah I understand that the radical muslim groups fuck it all up and would fight westernization in every form.

Looking at live leak it looks like Yemen is even more fucked up than all these other war zones currently active.


The other thing I wonder is what's different about the Arabs that live in Israel? Are they just rich and don't follow the ideology of the groups outside Israel? Or they just get along?

That's a very nice skyline.

The whole Israel-Palestine conflict is pretty sad shit. Man humans are fucking tribal animals aren't they? I guess people go to their baser instincts when it comes to territory and resources.

I do have to agree that Hamas is pulling some horrifying shit, and they certainly don't give a fuck about their own people. Sending suicide bombers to kill innocent Israeli civilians is absolutely deplorable. And then the constant rockets in hopes of killing an Israeli citizen? That is a huge downer.

Yeah it's horrible that Israel is bombing Palestine into the stone age (not like it had much infrastructure to begin with), but the US committed similar atrocities when innocent Americans were murdered. States will commit atrocities if there is a convenient reason to do so. It is par the course, and Israel is no better or worse than other States. However, it's still sad since peaceful solutions are preferable to this violence and destruction.

Arafat is a complete sack of shit for rejecting a 99% perfect two state solution. Israel comes off as the entity taking the high road during that particular negotiation. I am curious on what the Pro Palestine crowd think of this.

They are not rich (well no richer than their Jewish cousins) and there are over 1.6 million of them.

For the most part they get along with their fellow citizens, but of course they have sympathies with their brothers over the border, but not so much as to strap bombs to themselves and blow people up on the whole.

One of the main difference between Arab citizens and others is that they are not required to serve in the Israeli army.
