Setting up a meeting with the admissions office may be a good idea. If you can further explain how successful you are you may be able to increase your chances of getting in. Most Colleges strive on maintaining their reputation of cranking out gifted persons, and if you can prove your already making bank, they probably would be interested in having their name on your resumes.

It's probably your GPA that resulted in your rejection.
I doubt they read your essay, much less believe what you wrote in it.
All the colleges, if not most of them, are blind to everything else when it comes to admitting students except your grades. No grades, no talk. They won't give a damn if you own a million dollar business unless you're Bill Gates, Sergey Brin or Larry Page.
I learn this from experience because I tried applying for a prestigious course in college thinking I'd get in with testimonials supporting my "aptitude" for that particular discipline but because my grades didn't make it, I ended up being rejected.
I don't know if there's any good advice I can give you because I don't live in the States and my country's edu system differs from yours but in any case, all the best!

Join toastmasters international, it's probably the easiest way to meet everybody from future politicians, ex world leaders, high level executives, CEO's, charity foundations, and cool people in general. And when election season rolls around find out who's running and pay the $2,300 or whatever the donation limit is to go to their "private fundraising dinners". These dinners have everybody you would probably want to meet, athletes, business owners, CEO's, media personalities, and wealthy people in general. Show up with a hot chick from a nearby campus and I promise you that you'll have no problem networking with anyone there, no matter what they're status is and if you get into any legal trouble you'll have some hookups
Wow I'm in the exact position as you. I go to college right now but trying to transfer another harder college just so I can have a good experience with my friends. My GPA is above 3.0 and I'm pretty sure my essays were bad ass. I could have had a 4.0 but like you I am also running a business along with being a full time student.
I applied before the deadline date and everything but then I got a letter saying that they are missing a transcript from ONE class I took in high school and because of that my whole application is considered late and I'll only be considered if there is space.
When I heard that I was so upset because I was so excited to go to this college. I know that I probably wont use my degree, but its always nice to have a backup just in case everything goes down in flames. That's the reason I'm staying and completing college though.
I'll let you know what happens though, I sent an appeal to them hoping for them to consider my application on time. I know it won't work since it was my fault, but lets hope. I'll be feeling just like you in a couple of weeks, I think I'll get rejected.

With a 2.9 GPA being white, you are guaranteed a denial. Just write another appeal and tell them you're black. Golden ticket city!
What's funny is the sense of entitlement permeating your post. You're 'livid' that they didn't accept you to their school - why, how dare they! After all, you're a brilliant entrepreneur who got B's(B's, mind you!), even though not attending a single class - literally!
And they have the audacity to deny you admission? Why, perhaps they didn't understand the vast wealth of knowledge you could offer to the students there. Maybe they could even offer you a tenured position. I am just outraged about this - outraged!

I don't know why your GPA is low, perhaps you have a difficult time studying or something. Regardless, I say the person who stayed up countless nights studying for big exams (with a 3.5GPA) who applied because the program is a good fit should get in. The person with a 2.9 who just wants to go because all his friends went there? Can you see me rolling my eyes?
I'm sick of the whole "blue ribbon" mentality these days. Everyone gets a participation ribbon that says "good job" no matter who worked the hardest. Leaves kids with a nasty sense of entitlement. Work for your rewards.

Since when do you need an overpriced degree to do IM? Internet connection + functional brain seems to work for most.
College is a good experience overall for the social aspect, but honestly.. either you got the balls to make it in this world or you don't. You either have the drive or you don't. It can't be taught in a classroom.
That's all it boils down to. It has nothing to do with a so-called "education". A piece of paper with your name and some made up title you can hang on your wall.
