Just Got Rejected To A College

Fullsail wouldn't let you in their internet marketing program eh? That's a shame

Seriously though yeah if you talk to the right person they can definitely change their mind about most anything admissions related, however, I wouldn't go around telling them you barely ever went to class and still got a B makes you sound like a prick who thinks he'll only half ass college too.

Growing up I was certain I was going for a masters and then phD in chemistry, and I was on my way there. It was sort of expected of me because that's what my family did. Then my aunt said that getting her phD was "the biggest waste of time" in her life, and "if I had a social life, I would never have done it."

It really opened up my eyes about my reasons for going to college .. I had none, except an egotistic urge to "be better than everyone around me." So college is currently on the back burner and I'll stick to making it on my own.

College is only a "great experience" depending on where you live and if you choose to dorm. I don't know a single person in New York City who actually enjoyed college. Here, it's pretty much just like High School for the first 2 years, and then it's like High School AP classes with 5x as much work. There's no sense of community here, since we all live 1 bus stop away from our friends/classes.

One professer once told me that the entire purpose of the school system is to teach you 1 thing: Responsibility. It teaches you that no matter how inane or idiotic something is, you just have to do it to reach your goal (paper). It's an EXTREMELY important lesson and is the best reason for going to college.

Like somebody said above, college also teaches you that you can learn things on your own. A lesson i learned when I was 10 after I discovered the library. I was shocked.

"Oh shit. So if I don't know X, and then I read about X, I'll know X. Brilliant!" I was blown away. I still sigh when I hear people whine "man, I wish I could learn XYZ like you. I wasn't born smart" or "I'm too impatient to study ABC"

You should go to college just because if you don't, people will think they're better than you. A dude with no degree making $3 million a year has much less respect than somebody with a master's in science making $30k a year. It's stupid, but in most communities it's damn true.

BTW, community college is highly underrated.

rofl.

This is true. An education and/or respect is probably the only thing the person reviewing your application has over you. He's broke and jealous. I used to brag about getting Bs having never attended class too. We're not exactly the type these straight A kids who sit in the front are really fond of.

school? there are better ways to spend your time! It was not long ago I got rejected from a Law School - i thought i wanted to go to. I was pissed, I called and wrote letters and well there was just not much i could do - so instead I started a business as it turns out that rejection was a blessing. Now i do have other degrees so I will not say that a college degree of some kind is a waste -its a good idea. Just keep at it, get the grades up and if you still don't get in -well there is always affiliate marketing.

You could offer to write an ebook on your strategy to make money and offer a free copy to each of the members on the team that lets you in. They might accept you then :)

A even better idea would be: buy a $7 e-book off DP and then give it to them saying you made money with that.

Your obviously not qualified enough for this college. Just because your a blogger and some newbs will kiss your ass, doesnt mean the outside world thinks your something special.

I'm not going to explain my reasons why I applied or why I chose what school, but I applied to a college that a bunch of my friends go to, it's actually pretty hard to get into now.

So I called them and they said my 2.9GPA was "borderline", which then I mentioned I wrote an essay explaining my situation and how I didn't go to school much to take a risk in building a million dollar business.

I don't know if they just thought my essay was a load of bullshit or what, but I got a rejection letter today and I am livid about it.

Now before I drive 2 hours away to the school to blow a gasket in their office, how would you approach the situation? I don't even know if it's possible for a school to do, but I want to talk to them and try and change their minds on the decision.

What is this about really? Just shooting the shit or you really want advice? If you are doing that well blogging you should be able to afford a good admissions consultant.

Here - call +1 703.242.5885 or go to College, business, graduate, law, and medical school admission consulting services

If you are short change, next week is the 15th, i.e. net15 and you'll have some dough.

End of story. Otherwise you are basically just talking shit. If you want to get into school spend some money and get help. Otherwise, KYAS!!!

I have almost been through one year of college.

I have changed more as a person than the last 18 years of my life.

I have learned so much about myself.

I have met so many different kinds of people.

I would not trade my college experience for any money in the world.

This is the most important aspect about university that I experienced. My degree has done shit for me but the people I met and the friends I made from all over the world was awesome. I wouldn't have missed my college days for a million dollars.

I experienced the exactly same thing but I am not in college. Many friends that are in college that I have talked to have experienced this same overwhelming experience. It doesn't matter whether you are doing a degree or working at some place, it is just that this time of period is when your brain is experiencing massive growth and shaping you as a person.

Just last month when I talked to one of my friends from high school, he said he is willing to give up his last 3 years of college life and girlfriend just for the amount of money I am making and the business experience I have gained. So all this is just a different point of view.

I tried to make it in a higher middle school (gymnasium). The first time, I was just too lazy and dropped out 6 months after starting it. The 2nd time i passed the test and got in, i didnt even bother to try it again. (Keep in mind: Swiss education is different. you have to go to a higher middle school before even being allowed to attempt entering a university).

I just stayed at home for 1 yr and got into my actual dayjob that I'm going to quit this summer in oder to do affiliate marketing fulltime. Dropping out of that school has been a blessing for me... I was just too lazy to learn stuff I didnt really care about. Instead i went on to learn web development and eventually do affiliate marketing. Not to speak about how happy i feel about the way my life has been going.

Paul, do the same and just screw school. If you want to be near to your friend just move to a place near them. I'm pretty sure you can get about the same lessons on business doing the whole stuff without college and by just visiting courses. Education is for ppl who are too dumb to make it on their own.

Popeye, your moments of uncanny lucidity and sagacity always seem to surprise and catch off guard a girl....

Then I look at your obsessive-compulsive sig and I am snapped back into reality, lol

There are two things I do not understand.

Why people feel compelled to go to college.
Why people feel compelled to own a home.

I'd rather be an uneducated rich guy who rents, than a college graduate enslaved to a mortgage.

But that's just me.

Because it's what their reality of life is, from a time when they can't think critically of what's being told to them. People are becoming so complacent it's fucking scary. I believe kids growing up now will be subject to so much advertising by the time they're 20, they won't be able to think for themselves fully. A large part of life will become an unconscious routine programmed at an early age from corporate advertising, MSM, Gov propaganda, patriotism, religion, education etc..

All these are NOT in anyones interest except the bearer of the tune. Listen to yourself and fuck that noise.

If you go to college, go there to learn something that can't be learned anywhere else (engineering, law, brain surgery etc) but if you're just going for the "experience" then you can just replicate it and do your own thing:

1. Stay friends with your high school buddies so they invite you to the parties, get a fake ID or pay somebody who is 21 to buy you beer and just always show up to college parties with a few kegs. You'll be the fucking man.

2. While at those parties, hit up every girl you come across and get her phone/facebook/myspace/whatever and start "networking". Let em know that you read ppc.bz and I promise you the panties will drop. If you have no skills with the ladies, then hit up RSD nation and up your game.

3. Join toastmasters international, it's probably the easiest way to meet everybody from future politicians, ex world leaders, high level executives, CEO's, charity foundations, and cool people in general. And when election season rolls around find out who's running and pay the $2,300 or whatever the donation limit is to go to their "private fundraising dinners". These dinners have everybody you would probably want to meet, athletes, business owners, CEO's, media personalities, and wealthy people in general. Show up with a hot chick from a nearby campus and I promise you that you'll have no problem networking with anyone there, no matter what they're status is and if you get into any legal trouble you'll have some hookups ;)

4. Start racking up a shitload of bonus miles by buying gold/silver from the US mint and then resell them on ebay for a slight profit in order to pay off the credit card bill. You'll build good credit really fast and easily get unlimited airline miles anytime you want. Once you build up some miles, start traveling around the world and experience some new cultures, since your an affiliate marketer it will be easy to work from just about anywhere that has wifi.

5. When it comes time to party, use your airline miles to buy you and a few of your buddies some tickets to Vegas every other month. Stay at the MGM skylofts for $400 per night, they'll send a hot chick in a Maybach 62 to pick you up from the airport and give you a personal butler. The rooms are the shit and you can easily fit 50 people even in the smallest/cheapest rooms and they'll even put you on that "city wide VIP list" travel agents always try to upsell so you'll get into all of the hottest clubs/bars/lounges/restaurants without effort. If Vegas and hot chicks doesn't beat the "college experience" then checkout NSO Entertainment, for a couple grand these guys can get you into anything from the Oscars, the after parties, backstage passes, and even set it up so you can meet Oprah and ask her about the berries.
