iPhone Apps. Any success?

i was at the library two days ago (affluent area) and this guy nabbed a guy's ipod.

Tomorrow I"ll post a screenshot of my sales. It's nothing impressive so far, but that's fine. I wasn't exactly waiting for it to blow up from the very start. There are still a lot of things I can do with it.

I have also been wanting to create an iPhone app. I guess its time I started looking into it. Anyone know of a good place to find a developer for this? Odesk, elance, or rentacoder or whatever they call it now?
Looks like a quality app. I've been designing iPhone and Android apps since around January so if you or any other developers reading this want to get in touch and compare, shoot me a PM. A decent portion of my revenue comes from apps so I'd prefer to talk to people who already have successful apps or are on the way there, not just doing it as a side thing.
Some members have already PMed me asking me to put them in contact with my dev, which I have no problem doing. If you're serious about moving forward real soon, send me a PM and I'll put you through to him.

Next time I'll capture a smaller portion of my screen so the numbers are more visible. Viewing the video on YouTube will allow you to somewhat see the numbers, but full screen makes it perfect.

I only watched the last video so you might have mentioned this, but are you promoting it in any way? Those numbers seem incredibly low for a high quality app like that, especially since you got it featured.
Yes I have been, but not to a full extent yet since my free version is still not up. In addition, a couple days ago we realized that the app does not work properly for O.S 5 beta, so we will be putting out an update to fix that.
For some reason getting featured did jackshit for me. I only did 10 downloads that day, while doing 12 downloads the very next day with no feature.
Some good news. The people behind iPhoneAppCafe.com are willing to do a review post on my app. They aren't a huge app review site, but they still clock in 1k+ unique visitors a day that own an iPhone. Basically I'll have an extensive review on my app that will cover the pros/cons, all features and literally go from A-Z with the app. In addition the other 3-4 writers for the site will also download the app and put in their review in the comments. I'll also receive a site-wide banner spot and some other goodies. So this should bring some added attention to my app.
Oher news, as some of you know, my free app was disapproved and my dev has been working on making it compliant. Along with fixing the problems that Apple brought up, I've decided to integrate IAP (In-app purchase) into my free version. That way users that actually like my app's functionaility and want to get the "full" version, they can upgrade within the free version. This will take a maximum of 1 week to integrate + $500 dev charge lol.

on a related note, i see some apps tend to be free for a few days, and go back to paid...or sites like "free app a day".
if an app is free, then switches to paid, do the number of downloads while it was free count towards the total downloads..if you're planning on ranking in the 'top apps'?
