iPhone Apps. Any success?

Sorry fellows for not updating the thread earlier. Affiliate Summit put me off track for a bit, since I got some really good knowledge drops during the conference, and have been working my ass off on new campaigns since then.

The application is being submitted to the Apple store this week.

I don't know shit about apps, but my buddy made this app and is in the process of going totally viral:
App Store - Obama Clock

Most of you should like it. It doesn't take anything insane to make crazy money.

Our buddy who deals with sports PR is hooking him up with news interviews and I might toss him up a good wordpress site tonight. It's kinda nuts watching him get all this press!

i have a friend who is KILLING IT building iPad apps....they optimized for Major City iPad App Development, etc and they are making money hand over fist

FYI: On your LP there is the phrase "...has now become the #1 worse nightmare...", change worse to worst.

Good app idea.

Nice job Grunin. You're definitely getting better at speaking in front of a camera. Good luck with your app.

BTW, any idea what Apple's policy is on drug-related apps?

mGrunin, does the alarm override the ability to shut the phone off?

if not, and this might be a little "out there"...but...

perhaps on a power on you could have the front and back cameras take an immediate snapshot that is sent to your personal email. Chances are, if someone turns the phone on, they are going to be looking directly at the front camera (right above the screen). Might be a decent way to catch a thief - having an HD snapshot of their face.

I understand anyone with half a brain would reformat the phone before using it, but who knows - I'm just throwing it out there.

Thank you on both counts. A reason why I started making video updates was to improve on my speaking. Getting into the IM industry early on in life fucks with your social skills.

Regarding drug-related apps, it really depends what yours does. There are a bunch of reference drug apps in the store already.

It's not possible to overide the phone being shutdown.

What you are suggesting is 100% possible and has been discussed with my developer. As of right now this feature won't be integrated since it's pretty complicated. What we'll do is snap an image and then automatically send the image to the email address you added in the app. We'll even be able to send you screenshots of the maps app showing his location. But again, these functions would only be worked on if the app shows potential.

My app may seem simple or possibly simple to avoid for a thieve, but it's well in front of many of the security apps out there. Almost all the thieve alarm apps in the store work on the movement of the phone. So as soon as the iPhone is even picked up it alarms. These same apps also can't work in the background. They will stop working if the thieve hits the home button.

Where would you put this in? Can you use it directly from the phone via app store?

Tried looking into it, doesn't look like you can reedem a promo code via your iPhone. You need to load up iTunes on your computer, go to the iTunes Store homepage, on the right side click on "Redeem". Enter your code and you're good to go.

So today Apple decided to feature my app in the #1 spot for New applications in the Utility Category. Pretty happy about this:

Congrats. Have you tried getting it featured on gizmodo/lifehacker or something like that?

DailyAppShow just put up a video review of the app:
