IE was just too buggy for me. Everytime I used it the stupid thing would crash. When Frefox came along I downloaded it and never looked back.
Sounds like an issue within the OS to me. IE has been rock solid ever since XP.

I use and love FireFox, but the majority of people out there use IE 4, 5 and 6. Sadly if you want to appeal to your widest market possible you can't discount IE as that is hte browser most people will use to look at your web site.

IE 7 will take a little while to get out there. It will be packaged with the Windows OS and over time more and more people will use it. The most popular browser will still be IE 6 for a long time to come. Popular in terms of actual use not in real popularity.

Most people - not generally the type of people that visit these sort of boards, see a web browser on their computer and that's it. They never bother to change or look for alternatives. Why would they? They just want to look at a web page, do what they have to do and move on. If the page doesn;t look right they wont blame the browser, rather they will blame the web site and probably never go back to it.

Firefox is a very good browser now a days. A couple years back it couldn't display 80% of websites properly.

I didn't even know about it a couple years back, so I don't have any bad experiences with it. Apart from the fact that it slows down the entire system after some time...But then again, that could also be me being cheap and working with only 256 ram...

Yea, Firefox eats up RAM like there is no tomorrow especially if there are lots of tabs open. Problem is that the only way to recover this RAM is to shut down Firefox and start again.

This is when the "Bookmark all tabs" feature comes in handy.

As far as I remember, FireFox used to be called Mozilla Firebird a couple of years back but I wouldn't be on that

In my case, I have to do an entire Windows reset in order for the PC to continue working properly...
