I applaud your efforts to constantly provide opportunities for critical thinking. but truth is. people will believe what they believe that is it. and since it's so ingrained in our culture and upbringing. there will be nothing you can do to actually change this.
If that's true, then how did I come to these conclusions about the world and my government when I was brought up inside their system?
I was basically raised as a typical trailer park redneck in the shittiest public schools in the south. My selfish parents didn't even feel the need to help pay for my education, so I never finished university. (I worked for what I did attend, but only partied hard while there.) I'm 100% sure that the first quarter century of my life or more was wasted inside the matrix, without a single clue being presented to me on how this world really works.
Yet somehow, don't ask me how, I was still smart enough to learn about the nature of our reality, mostly from reading blogs and forums on the internet like this one. (inb4 snickering)
it takes a massive experience to first scratch the record to the extent where one begins to start to question.. then a new self education begins.
I kind of agree here, but perhaps "massive" is too strong of a word. For me I'm pretty sure the turning point was when I backpacked Europe in 1998. Before that I'd never left the country. Once exposed to other cultures and hearing that in fact america was NOT the benevolent center of the universe (which I didn't believe for another 5 years) my 'new self education' just seemed to manifest itself as tiny little hints here and there forever afterwards.
9/11 wasn't traumatic to me at all, but the falling down of the towers did in fact look pretty fake to me, too. Surely that was a bigger hint than normal, but still nothing massive.
Buddhism, which is something I appreciate and understand but like 99.9999% of Thais don't actively practice, has taught me morality which was sorely lacking in the world I was raised in. If not for those simple lessons I also wouldn't be able to understand the Moral reason for anarchy, and wouldn't be as likely to have embraced it.
So in summation; Myself and others here on WF have learned tons about anarchy and the world in general from others online, and a few have even thanked me for helping them see the light. Some people may require a massive experience to start seeing the world clearly, and maybe they'll have it just before logging onto wickedfire one day. Other people, like myself, won't even require that.
So I'll keep at it, thanks. I'm aware that it's a numbers game.
now i myself have become rather an observer and take the bits and pieces that I can use and move ahead. but no need to discuss with people aside from conversation on any of these topics.
recently acquired a new citizenship and passport.. so things are moving in the right direction.
