Personally I think parents should be the main target in this one. It's already hard enough for teachers to teach kids their subjects while spending half the time doing crowd control. This attitude of 'let the school worry about it' just causes more harm than good, especially the things parents demand of the school.

Too many pregnancies - let the teachers worry about it.
Kids can't cook or use a washing machine - get the schools to teach it.
People get into debt with credit cards - create a class for it.

I don't buy that parents don't have time these days either when the average person can still watch 40 hours of TV every week.

Sorry to be quoting myself here (how gay) but my husband and I got into a good conversation yesterday about this thought. He wasn't convinced human greed was the root of all evil so he brought up the 7 deadly sins. We went through them one by one and actually if you think about them most of them are related to greed. WE also went through and rated them, like which ones we didn't think were that bad and which we did. It was fun.
 
So.. they were ALL not that bad in the end?

And BTW..it is 14 deadly sins now, keep up with the news, will ya?

I heard a pretty good quote recently that summarized it well...

"Life is too short to keep kosher"

It's true. We have more rules than any other religion. But they are all man-made "suggestion" types of "rules". The only one that Mr Magical Man in the Sky himself supposedly gave us were the 10 commandments. Everything else is just from bored Jews who spent the last 5700+ years sitting around coming up with new rules and laws so that they wouldn't have to go out and get a real job.
