Hydra Important

Hydra is a good company with some talented people, and is much too large for one - or even two, three or four - people's exodus to adversely affect.

The CEO (Zac) has a brilliant business mind, and he built an empire (no pun intended, CPA fans) with sound judgment; if it was his decision to move the company this direction, it is probably beneficial in the long-term.

I know Zac & some of the people that were let go - as well as those that left voluntary - and though it is a major loss, no one person is bigger than the company at Hydra. They are essentially a machine with replaceable parts, and will be able to find people to fulfill the roles that were vacated.

I can not imagine the internal chaos that must be occurring at the company as this was definitely a jolt to morale (in my opinion), but Hydra will succeed, will continue making money, and will continue to be a good resource for affiliates and advertisers alike.

Did it say 'founder' or 'co-founder'???? It said the LATTER, thus there is MORE than one founder. There was a board meeting, and a subsequent 'hostile takeover' that stripped the founder and EVP of their management responsibilities but not their ownership.

You kids really think you're so smart, but let me tell you running a one-person 'company' from your bedroom is not 'real world' business. Running a corporation IS.

Hello friend,

Perhaps corporation of America is different. In India many big business still control by founder and family.

Tata group is one. Even when go public like Tata motors control is still in hand of Tata family since still own most of stock of company.

If it true and shareholder vote to kick out one of founder in Hydra then it be in best interest for company.

Many time founder only have job in company because he founder. Sometime it may be good to kick out and bring person other better to do job of his for future of company. Did Yahoo no do that recent?

Good luck bro

WillieDebo,

First of all, if you knew anything there is a HUGE amount of love on this board for Hydra. Secondly, I'm just going to yell at you anyway, and if you do work at Hydra well then you already know that I love you.

That's wonderful you had confirmed knowledge, you just sucked at presenting it. Seriously ONLY after getting called out you began to back up your claims, when if you had qualified initially and brought that into the mix, I wouldn't have called you out.

you're presumptuous to think there aren't real businesses being run out here. Hello, we're in an industry that's like six years old basically, you try to prepare for an industry where the tools and methods are still being realized and formalized and requires you to work fucking 80 hours a week. You better believe your kid's marketing course at college will be Performance Marketing 101 in 10 years.

Where do you think startups happen, they happen in fucking bedrooms and garages by enterprising, hard working mother fuckers regardless of age.

I'll get out of my boxers and into a business suit when I fucking corporate raid some Old World Media shit and flip them into relevance. Until then I'll fill the coffers.

Check this out... One of my friends at Hydra just sent this to me. Abby ran that place. crazy...

Dear Hydra,

I am writing this letter to notify the company of my immediate resignation. After pouring my heart and soul into this company for five years it is incredibly sad to see things end this way. I am very proud of the things that we have accomplished and will cherish the time I had working with all of you. This place once felt like a family. Right now it feels like a cold corporation run by greedy, manipulative and ill-informed decision makers.

By the time you read this, you will have likely heard what’s left of Hydra’s attempt to put their spin on today’s events. Believe what you will, but I believe what I have seen and what I have experienced first hand. The Walkers were the heart of this company. What happened yesterday was inexcusable on so many levels. And while they were being summarily fired, humiliated, and escorted out of the office, where was our fearless leader? He was hiding in his office as usual. I feel like I’m abandoning many of you that I have worked closely with but I can’t in good conscience, and I will not under any circumstances, work to put one more dime in this company’s pockets.

It’s important that you know that I did not make this decision lightly. For five years I have worked as hard as I possibly could to help elevate this company. From day 1 I have treated it as if it were my own. Now it all feels like wasted effort. Many of you need this job. You have families to feed, bills to pay. But for those of you that have other options, ask yourself, “is this the kind of company that I want to work for?” The kind of company that can treat people this way? Who is making the decisions anymore? I for one am not willing to wait around to find out. Enough is enough…

I look forward to working with most of you again in the future. Until our paths cross again, I wish you the best of luck.

Sincerely,

Abby Whitridge

Hello friend,

Why so many people of new register here just for talk of Hydra fire employee.

First WillieDebo do and now you do.

Did employee who get fire by Hydra tell you two to?

Good luck bro

Dude,

The board of directors in a corporation can fire the CEO. It does not matter if he is co-founder or owns stock. Even if he owns a lot of stock, that might not be enough. Apparently he did not own enough shares to have a majority on the board of directors.

Not "perhaps corporation of america is different" - they are different. Don't compare - rather read up and then make a comment.

For the record the newly registered members posting in this thread are just trying to stay anonymous, they do have accounts on this forum and are active members.

Evan's not exactly a n00b... He used to run stuff over at eAdvertising.com.

As for the Hydra situation, it'll be interesting to see where things go from here. Firing founders of a company can always shake things up a bit and change morale.

Steve Jobs was fired once, this is no different. I just can't believe shit would break down like this. I have to agree to what Abby wrote.

LOL at Sumit firing off the "Good Luck Bros" early and often in one thread. Things that make you go hmmm.
