Just curious how many people we have here that would call themselves "foodies".

Wikipedia defines it best (foodie vs gourmet):
Although the two terms are sometimes used interchangeably, foodies differ from gourmets in that gourmets are epicures of refined taste, whereas foodies are amateurs who simply love food for consumption, study, preparation, and news.[1] Gourmets simply want to eat the best food, whereas foodies want to learn everything about food, both the best and the ordinary, and about the science, industry, and personalities surrounding food.

by the Wikipedia definition I am a "foodie", I do enjoy a really good restaurant (like a 3 michelin star) occasionally, but good food every day is great - keeping seasonality in mind its even more fun.

I love cooking, shopping for fresh ingredients, spices, shopping for the kitchen (pots, pans, knives, appliances), finding recipes to try, watching cooking shows and I wouldn't mind going to culinary school. I had a friend in her late 30s who went to Cordon Bleu London recently for the better part of a year, just because she always wanted to, and she loved it.

Just eat my moms preprepared meals and grind errday.

Guess then im a foodie then, :D and damn that Sriracha looks good :D it made me hungry, bigtime :D

I thought I already posted ITT.

If I see something and I haven't yet eaten it, I order it. No exceptions.

I also pick countries to travel to by their cuisine. Wikipedia is great for this, btw.

Also an extremely talented cook..., ladies.

Foodie here.
I enjoy this more than the old "gourmet", as I enjoy gourment restaurants and basic, but fresh and nicely prepared food, too.

Learning about good produce, cooking, even some history that goes into food is loads of fun.

Yep same here - food is one of things that feel very strongly about... I'm interested everything about it, the from production to how to cook it. And it makes me mad how industrial conglomerates have fucked up our food chain. :2gunsfiring_v1:

food good. fire bad.

Unless afore mentioned conflagration is utilized to prepare said consumables, in which case one would have to assume that both

food and fire good.

I am!

When I went to LA last month I had to try everything so I could compare it to NY.

Coffee Bean
Sushi
Burgers

Fuck, we even went to Rosco's chicken an waffles

I guess you could call me one. A good portion of my time is devoted to thinking about food, preparing it, looking for new things to try, experimenting, etc.
