I started my first Niche Website 3 months ago and working on it slow and steady. One of my old friend asked me to make back links for your website to get good ranking in search results, my question is, "How many back links will be enough to get success in search results?

Also please guide me am I missing something which is preventing my site to be rank at the top at 1 position? My Searching Tag is, "Stuhrling Watch Review" and the domain name is also the same.

It completely depends on the niche. Sometimes you can rank well with 5 backlinks, but sometimes 50,000 isn't enough. You'll have to analyze your competitors and see what they have, then do better. I assume with luxury watches there's quite a bit of competition.

First off always be careful of giving away your keywords.

You can't put an exact number of links you need to achieve a rank position. It depends on the keyword and the competition. Overtaking the sites like the actual company website, and Amazon can be tough.

Not all backlinks are equal.A backlink from one site could be the equivalent of thousands of backlinks from others. It really depends on how potent the links are, as well as the competition. Not to mention whether or not your onsite SEO is up to snuff.

It depends what you mean by success. Having good rankings without a strategy to convert visiting traffic would be as good as not ranking high enough.

As for backlinks, numbers do not matter. It matter where you get your backlinks from. The higher your backlink quality, the better it is for your rankings.

All keywords are also different depending upon how many others are trying to rank for the exact same phrase as you.

depends on niche

but blogorll links in your same market, my suggestion. Only from sites with low OBL to non-penalizing blogs

It all depends upon what is your competition there are many keywords that does not even require a single backlink to be at first place in google.

I think it's best to get backlinks from high PR sites, like .gov for instance, some from good authority sites, maybe PR4-5 and then backlinks from blogs, forums etc, this way the Google spiders rate your site better, I use a program called BacklinkTopia for mine, it's a set and forget piece of software.

Hope this helps

Hey Isloooboy,

Just go to Google & search for backlink checker, & spy on your competitors's backlinks.. that way you'll know how many backlinks you need to outrank them. When creating your backlinks make sure you get high quality backlinks from authority sites with a good PR.

I could rank for that keyword in a week. It's more complicated than "how many links" you have. You need quality and diversity in your link profile. You also need good content, good site design, good on page SEO. etc.

I looked at your site and your conversion WILL SUCK if and when you get a bunch of traffic. It's way too cluttered and way to hard to read. You also need to get rid of stupid links, like the ones in your footer.

In my experience, I've found out that Nofollow Backlinks Work very well on Highly targeted/related Sites.. so I still use Nofollow links, even though I never rely on them.. but I still highly recommend them!

Not all backlinks are equal.A backlink from one site could be the equivalent of thousands of backlinks from others. It really depends on how potent the links are, as well as the competition. Not to mention whether or not your onsite SEO is up to snuff.

Correct!Building millions of backlinks will just be useless when it's done improperly.

I don't think that the number of backlinks is the only deciding factor of your site's search popularity. The quality of those backlinks also do matter. Linking to a few high PR sites will boost up your site than linking to plenty of low PR sites.

I once read that providing consistent backlinks is more important than a huge quantity. For example, 10 links in one day isn't as good as 1 link each day over a 10 day period. I haven't been able to prove or disprove that fact. Does anyone else know if this is true?

you can not say that the n-numbers of back link would be enough for you to gain the high traffic on to your website on which your working for but i must say you need to do back linking its very important but try to focus on quality back links which came from high PR sites
