How Hydra Affiliate Network Screwed Me Out Of $25,000

No kidding. I would imagine that the members of this forum make up a pretty significant piece of their business. It's pretty unbelievable that no one from the network has bothered to post their position in response to this.

So the concern would be, "what if something like this happen to you if you are currently working with hydra?"

Hydra do need to address this issue here, there's no excuse.

I don't spend a lot of time in forums, I prefer to be productive. Just dropped by looking for similar experiences with hydra.

you don't have to believe me, i could care less. if you want to pm me I'll forward you email correspondence with hydra.

I think this might be some bullcrap I smell..

What if some of the old employees that got fired is trying to scare away affiliates..

catchafire you got 6 posts dude.... And your last post before today was in 2006..

...

Maybe that's true, but Hydra hasn't replied yet. Either they were in the wrong here and are ignoring this hoping it will go away or they haven't seen this yet which makes them the most clueless motherfuckers alive.

Neither one is a good look, IMO.

I can't speak for Hydra and I am not going to try, but I did talk to my Hydra AM who I have a close relationship to.

A couple of things to note. Hydra is aware of the thread. Hydra does not usually respond to things on this forum. We might think that's a bad business decision, but that's debateable.

Hydra is going through a lot of transition with staffing currently and may not have someone in a position to respond at the moment.

Many of us have found Hydra to be a great network (as proven by the "Best Networks" thread). I love Hydra for a lot of reasons that aren't that important to list here.

However, as I told my AM, no matter whether we as individual affiliates have had long standing relationships with Hydra or no experience at all, as individuals we would be stupid not to always ask questions, gather information and protect ourselves from any possible threat.

We should have this behavior towards all networks at all times.

I don't know the OP and he doesn't know me. Our experiences with Hydra apparently have been polar opposite. But its silly for affiliates to jump on or off ANY networks bandwagon based on a thread on ANY forum without doing your OWN due diligence

If we take responsibility for ourselves, then we shouldn't be worried.

Your keyword density for Hydra in that thread is perfect. Are you trying to get this post indexed or something?

See that's the problem. This guy (if he's on the up and up) apparently took responsibility for himself by clearing what he was doing through his AM and then THEY decided not to pay him therefore making your point moot.

FYI Hydra staff - although your network seems to be popular, by the way you have handled this thread (not at all) I would never sign up, or send any traffic. I'm probably not the only one...

Why would I work with you, when A4D, Copeac, C2M, MaxBounty, etc are willing to defend their reputation when necessary?

Agreed. I'll stick to my A4D, NBA and Max. Based on what I've read in this thread and their nonresponsiveness I will never even consider signing up and working with them. What a joke.

Wouldn't the best form of action be to just stop using Hydra? If enough people quit using them they might sit up and take notice.

Good luck with that, for every 1 good affiliate there are 10 stupid ones there to take his/her place.

You would have to get all there big affiliates to jump ship for them to notice.

True that. I'm sure there are a lot of big affiliates reading this thread who might end up taking their business elsewhere.

In my opinion the only reason I'd let a network take a cut from the leads it take the risk for us, float the money etc. I mean they get offers, float the money and handle the risk. If they didn't do that, why use networks instead of going direct?

Plus, you'll waste money going to court and they know you'll never do it--so telling them you will just makes you look bad - they're much more afraid of threads like this than a lawsuit from an affiliate over a measly 25k.

The bottom line is Hydra's policy is that if the advertiser doesn't pay them, they won't pay you.

With this in mind, I work with them only reluctantly and under the best possible payment terms.

Honestly, they've been making such a habit of this lately that I'm surprised there aren't more threads like this.

Well, we could always just keep bumping this one for months and months.
I mean, since they're not planning on responding at all....

I spoke with Hydra about this last week when the thread was made, and they said they won't be responding to it at all. Which sucks because they also said there are two sides to the story, which I don't doubt, but if they won't respond then we'll never know or care about theirs I guess.

That is not their policy. Their policy is if you dont break the T&C then you get paid regardless.

(Yes, I read the thread).
