How do beat the urge to eat?

Just keep punching yourself in the stomach and telling yourself your too fat. That should do it.

Foods high in fibre will keep you feeling full longer. Going high protein + high fiber is a solid way to go. Tuna sandwiches, steak + brown rice + veggies, whole grain cereals/snacks, etc.

Oh, and if you don't want to get fat, hit the fucking gym. It's not hard. You work from home. I KNOW YOU HAVE THE TIME FATASS.
 
+1 on the Green Tea. It's an appetite suppressant and comes with a whole heap of benefits. I drink it with ice and splenda every day. (Although the splenda will probably cancel out all the anti-cancer benefits). If you hate the taste, you can take Green Tea Extract and get the same benefits.

Almonds (in moderation)
Grapes
Celery (Yeah it's boring but maybe you could put a little bit of natural peanut butter on it.)

The next time you want to open that bag of spicy Cheetos haul your hefty ass to the bathroom and take off your shirt in front of the mirror. Would you want to fuck that? No? Not so fucking hungry now are you.
 
Be a water whore. Guzzle TONS of water. It'll also give you an excuse to take the mandatory 2 minute break forty-five minutes later...

If I'm really hungry (inbetween meals) then one of those Fiber one bars are great for making you feel pretty full for just a regular food bar.

If you find your just bored and not hungry, go brush your teeth. Really. How often do you want to eat right after you brush your teeth?
 
I read an article that suggested we often eat out of boredom, not hunger. One suggestion to combat this was to say to yourself, "am I hungry enough to eat an apple?" If the answer is "yes", then go eat an apple (or insert fruit here). What most often happens is we go in search of sweet, sugary snacks which make us fat. If you stick to healthy snacks, then snack away. If you don't feel like eating fruit, then you're really just bored and not actually hungry.

I also chew a lot of gum.

Water works best for me. I have been on prednisone and hydrocortisone for about the past 4 years pretty steady and the urges are just ridiculous. All I want to do is eat and I love to cook so it can be tough. And stay busy too.

One established tip is to have soup with your meal, and you'll likely eat fewer calories. Cream soups are exempt from this, however. I just made a fresh pot of Chinese vegetable soup with chicken, tofu, peppers, onion, garlic and bok choy.

Eating throughout the day is a tip that keeps your blood sugar on an even keel, and people who do this tend to weigh less. I have a friend who eats all day, carbs even, and he's pretty thin.

I keep a lot of fresh vegetables and salady things in the house.

Or if you have enough willpower: get some grapes, and every time your stomach growls eat one. One batch should last you like 4-5 hours. I had to do that shit when I was at campus studying. I'm too cheap to buy food outside and I didn't want to carry a lunch box with me always.
