To answer the question, not too much, I was not much more than a lurker around here. Tried and failed at IM, but I did wind up
getting some extra income working for marketers either video editing or some graphic creation
 


I will admit I never really got good at it. Split testing the ads and then the keywords. Pockets were never deep enough to get any campaign beyond oscillating around breakeven.

Seems it was primarily a 2006-2015 phenomenon. The ringtones, rebills, superaffiliate blogs with people saying they'd made several mil a month from rebills. The FTC crackdown on the rebills seemed to have caused a significant chilling.

Wish I had invested more into a few solid SEOd sites.
 
This thread is a de ja vu. :) Lots had happened. Built a little real estate portfolio from them affiliate moneys. Around 40 doors. Went into sports industry while still marinating some income from im.

I have a cat too.

Haven't been on here in forever.

Left the self-employed space to work a nice secure job in IT for for the last 6 years. Outbreak happened and got shit canned last week along with 10 other guys.

Might be a good time to go back to making some shit for myself that I can't be fired from.

40 units. Many of these are duplexes and triplexes, which counts as two doors or 3 doors.

It all started from aff marketing, then if a few years the price goes up, you refinance and buy another one. And another one. From aff marketing transitioned into an advertising agency, but yeah, all internet dollarz

But now when the tenants are calling and saying that they can't make rent because of COVID, in times like these you don't want to be a landlord...

Since there's this covid all over the world, I've decided to kill my free time by learning more about affiliate marketing.

Yeah, this place is unique. I don't enjoy 4chan but honestly don't have anywhere else in my life that I can waltz in and insult everyone rudely and get away with it.

Crap, it's been 10 years already? Now I feel old.
 
Freelance a bit of dev/design work both on my own and do contract work for an agency, but mainly focused on building out my own projects these days. I have one site that pays my monthly bills which is nice. Found a niche and went for it.



Also worked for a startup for about a year. At first, everything was great but over time what they hired me for and what I actually ended up doing on a daily basis were two VERY different things. I manned up and brought this up with the CEO and he was not very receptive to my concerns at all, so I ended up leaving shortly thereafter. It just reminded me and reinforced my belief that working for others is not the way to success.


So I continue to grind away, still grinding after all these years. Some things work, some don't. But I never give up.

That said, I've come full circle and realized that small de-centralized, independent forums are the future of the internet. This forum is directly responsible for much of my political ideologies thanks to Ron Paul campaign and all you Ancap fags.



So here we are back to WF and other small forums just to get away from the filth that is Silicon Valley Social Media

So... Reddit kills small forums... then Reddit kills your conversation after amassing all the power and attention away from forums. Now you are back on forums, to have a conversation about Reddit killing the conversations that were orginally on forums.

took 2ish years off (mangaed 4 clients and just walked away from my company, being svp of the other two)... just started back up late last year... been surprisingly solid.
