I use Illustrator and Photoshop on a daily basis... Suitcase is also needed for my thousands of fonts!

Never make logos in photoshop!!!

I'm cheap. PaintShop Pro does everything I've need it to do so far.

Seriously? I used that program to draw pretty pictures when I was like three. Come on now, you're better than that.

I used to use Fireworks but with the recent discovery of some pretty sweet plugins etc I have moved to Photoshop 95%.

As for the original topic of the thread, I tend to follow the content of the site. That usually dictates the style I use for the design. But overall its the UI that gets the most attention with me. Without a perfect UI, people will simple piss off and go elsewhere.

What more do I need than pretty pictures on my sites to make money? I don't see any reason wasting my hard earned cash on expensive graphics software and then wasting my valuable time learning how to use something more complicated, when I can do everything I need with Jasc's Paint Shop Pro.

I do all my graphics through photoshop b/c that's all I know how to use. I consider myself maybe between beginner/intermediate.

I use photoshop, allot of the time I find that i lack inspiration for logos tho, I hate it at my college when we are given LOADS of time for planning the design and layout of a website, i prefer to get in thier and play about with things rather than planning it all because if you plan too much once you start to build and you realise something doesnt fit in physical form rather than in your head - your screwed.

Photoshop CS all day long. All my layouts are created in it, and Illustrator CS2 for logos or anything that would potentially go to print.

Photoshop the most by far, occasionaly touch on the following; Illustrator, Cinema 4D and 3Ds Max.

I started out with Paint Shop Pro, but then I got Illustrator. To be honest, I still have to go back to Paint Shop Pro for some things. There are just times when it is easier to deal with than Illustrator. Don't get me wrong. I love Illustrator. It can just be a pain do do some stuff.

Illustrator and PSP are two very different beasts! I would try out Photoshop for your raster projects, as opposed to PSP... not arguing the features, but it's an industry standard and clients expect it :)
