Oh come on... you know what i mean. There is not the competition, not many who have enough $$$ to hit a big market like smart phones, or game consoles.

Could happen if a group would raise the money etc....

I am also wondering after steve jobs died... who will even swing for home runs on new products, any innovation would be great.

P.S. im not a occupy wall street anti capitalism tent dweller... wearing designer clothes surfing the web on my iphone.


Bottom line: I would like to see more powerful ideas, and taking more chances...(even if it was on more limited scales... more expensive products, in more limited production to show innovation....for example vcrs were areound 1,000 when they came out.. limited in production more expensive...

Apple could do this, they have the money, and could say these products are more BETA prototypes.. more expensive with no guarantee of updated os etc

Limited Edition, prototype, more expensive yes... but they could show more innovation... the car industry has there prototype stuff... why not limited production more innovative products?

Then go invent something better, hit up the big players with it, and license it out to them. If they believe there's a demand for it, and they can make decent coin with it, they'll pick it up.

And what do you mean there's no innovation in technology? Wasn't very long ago when tablets were something for the future, and we thought this was a kick ass phone:

Its not so easy to just invent the kind of technology you see today with an average joe budget. You could submit ideas, but why would they pay you anything for an idea when they could take it and change something on it and claim it as their own.

And what I mean by no innovation in technology I'm not talking about technology in general. I'm talking about big companies like apple holding out to switch to newer technology until they make as much money as possible from the old junk. They would rather sell you small upgrades in technology every time they release a new phone or ipad. It's good for business, but I feel like its holding back real progression.

I think eventually its going to get to a point where these big corporations will slow the rate of advancing technology to save their asses. Whats the point of releasing some new bad ass technology if it threatens any other part of your business. I'm thinking sooner or later our advancement will hit a crawl and you won't see any new technology unless its beneficial for the big corp alliances of the future.

Also giving too much technology to your average citizen will become a liability. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
