I'm starting to get out of memory error messages though so I'll soon upgrade to 16gb or 24gb of memory. I'm also considering getting a 256gb SSD, but I can't force myself to do it when I could get 4 2TB hard drives for the same price.![]()
Are you actually running out of memory, or just for a specific program? That's usually what those messages are for because they use a set percentage of the total memory. You can change the allotted amount on a per program basis.
Oh, and wait 1 year and that SSD will half in price for the same storage. That trend has been happening for the last few years. In a couple years, SSDs will become the must have since the cost will have dropped so much on them, forcing them to become the norm for hard drives. Right now, it's just not worth the money for that extra 1-3 second less delay in accessing files and 30% faster bootup.
