So I'm starting my addiction to online poker tonight.

Has anyone here played full tilt poker and came out on top?

I've played PokerStars and done alright.

Don't play one on one tables though - with the house cuts it's pretty brutal.

played on both PS and FT. I've come out on top on both, and lost on both. The suckouts are bad on both but you get dealt waaaaaaaaay more hands online so i guess its to be expected.

Casino poker > Online poker

Agreed.

Every few months I'll drop 25 or 50 bucks in PokerStars or Full Tilt and milk it in SitnGos for a few weeks till I get the urge again. I'm thinking about dropping some more scratch in Full Tilt to try their Rush games. Rush poker is a ring game but as soon as you fold your hand you are transported to a new table and get a new hand so you don't have to wait around. Supposed to be good for a lot of action (and for the house to make a fuck ton of money.)

I've played on quite a few online rooms including Full Tilt, however I've always like Poker Stars the best.

I was hooked on FT poker for a while. Played the fake money games for a while to get used to the pace, and then jumped into money games...and got my ass kicked. I'm over Texas holdem...no time for that shit anymore..but it was fun.

playing with fake money will give you a fake impression of the game. If you wanna learn start with freeroll tournaments or 1$ sit&go tables.

Full tilt is pretty awful for support but you probably won't ever need it. The software is debatably the best.

Make sure to sign up with rakeback though, which is by far the biggest advantage of FTP over PokerStars. Feel free to use my rakeback affiliate link below :)

Start playing Rush Poker and you'll never leave your computer again.

Yeh I joined FTP and am using this to quickly clear the deposit bonus. It's a fucking rollercoaster and it tilts my face off..

My graph over 5000 hands is insane..

Not sure whether I'm going to keep playing it though.

Don't play the play chip games, people just screw around at those tables and it really doesn't give you a sense of what online poker is like. I'd recommend playing some freerolls, check out FREEROLLS - POKER FREEROLLS SCHEDULE for a list. If you're not interested in playing for free and want to make a deposit, PokerStars & FullTiltPoker are the two largest & most reputable poker rooms. I'd personally avoid anything on the iPoker network, or Cereus network.

I played Party Poker years ago, and I think maybe Full Tilt, but before the laws changed. How are USA residents depositing money these days that's safe, w/out an insane charge? How are you withdrawing?

Poker Stars still accepts monies / players from the US. I've never had to cash out though. I usually just play .05 / .10 tables and have had my original deposit in there for about a year.

I wont play for any real $$$ unless its in person.

Learn to play Limit Razz. If you play conservative and don't chase--you will win. Won over $400 in 2 hours or less for 10 strait days.

I play on Full Tilt and love it. Like others said Rush poker is insane. If you have rakeback in rush poker it's really nice, you torch through so many hands especially if you have 4 rush poker tables up.

I don't hear a lot of people saying they made any money ... sounds like a time sink to me.

And to "rlyman22" if you were winning $400 consistently why don't you keep doing it? Oh, because eventually you lost.

Listen, only the top 1% of poker players are going to make any money, and I would imagine 99% of you on this forum are not in the top 1% ... focus on your campaigns, unless you are just trying to play small and have some fun.
