First site done in 2008 got bored of it

Find the top brands with the top quality in table lamps

2nd site Rupture Games, Your online source for game reviews, and Discussions related to gaming, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, PC, and more. also got bored with this one

this is the last site I did and an actual whole hearted effort Solaraholic.com

between building these sites I have been teaching myself programming and working 48hrs a week at my job, I'm starting to feel hopeless in making any money online. I would appreciate any helpful input, I really want to make this work I've bought countless online programs with no success. What am I doing wrong.

First site is very retarted look to buy from it $mid xxx products. Plus have no real info, make it more like second one, but save current simple design

Second one way too many ads...wtf, make it like first one lol

Third look more good than previous two. But still can be improved...

Most important question, do they get any targeted traffic ? No traffic = no monies

Persistence... If you just bounce around from idea to idea without believing you'll succeed or without committing yourself to mastering a certain area then what do you expect?

You just made a thread essentially saying "I made 3 shitty websites that don't make money...WHY?"

Also stop joining "Make Money Internet Courses".... experience and FAILURE will help you develop intuition and success in the end. Michael Jordan didn't become great at basketball by reading books about the game, he became good by playing and mastering his craft over time.

Honestly, it doesn't look like you really tried or didnt know what you were doing. I don't have much time because I am busy working on shit, but I stopped by to check PMs and this topic just got to me. Usually when I see people complain about this is only takes a few seconds to see why it didn't work it. First site is very shitty looking, has little content, and has really no quality links from outside sites. Do people search for table lamps? Does "find the top brands with the top quality in table lamps" mean anything to anyone? It doesn't look like you did anything to create traffic and even if you did it probably wouldn't convert.

If you got bored, you got bored pretty fast. When I get bored of sites I leave them alone and they still make money.

Looks like you did a lot more with the last one. I would say you made some progress, but I'm not that familiar with the subject. I personally would've used a different domain, but at least it has "solar" in it and isn't that bad. I probably would use a title on the home page and some other stuff, but not really sure what the market is there or have time to find out.

I have never bought any online programs for anything, just read all the forums and free resources, etc. If you can teach yourself programming you can teach yourself everything else. There's no "can't" about it.

CaviB,
Focus. 1st step.
Look around, look for crowds, look for crowds waving money... take said money.

-And fail faster, and a lot more.

1. Stop doing the above.
2. Get on with something.
3. If it doesn't work. Try it again x 3
4. If that doesn't work, try something else. Until it works.

"What am I doing wrong."

I'm by no means a da Vinci, but you need a lot of help in the design department. If you're going to do the design by yourself, you need to seriously take a course, buy a book, get some artist friends to critique your stuff, etc.

Plus, if you have money coming in from elsewhere, I'd hire a designer in Buy, Sell, Trade. Copy one of your artists designs and tweak it.

And don't give up.

Websites are kinda like babies. It can bring you tremendous joy to nurture them and watch them grow and reap the benefits. Also, most people tend to think their own are very good looking when everyone else thinks they're ugly as fuck.

first things first, everyone here can probably relate

i read a few comments... and the ones you should really listen too are

focus - according to mr. green, focusland is where mr. money lives, and he is right
fail faster - this is so true, i learned that if something doesnt work, just move on as fast as you can
stop fucking around - this is true, actually think about what your doing. plan ur shit out
go confidently in your direction of work - KNOW what you are doing. know why you are designing your site the way you are, know why you are targeting the audience, and know why you are promoting your offer whichever way you are.

to me it seems like u have the "if i build it, they will come mindset" and you also think making money online is easy. you have some shit to learn

Ok in the unlikely chance that OP isn't trolling...

1. Don't even bother trying if you're just going to put CRAP out there.
No one is going to come and buy from your cutesy wittle site just because you put it up there. No one cares that you want to make money. Create some value or you are just masturbating. The last site you posted was by far the best. That's good fucking news since it means that you actually improved on EVERYTHING drastically since your first project.

In the case of the lamp site, you should have at least researched the top competition and tried to put out something that looked as good, was as easy to navigate, organized things well etc etc. Don't give me any crap about not being a designer or not affording hiring one either. Even the most unimaginative, dull-ass programmer can edit a decent Wordpress theme. Hell, they make up 90% of this forum - ask them.

Once you're at least on par with the competition, then you can start thinking about how to differentiate yourself. Post some articles on lamps or something. "How to Choose the Perfect Lamp for You" or "Go Green With a Low Lighting Lamp" or "Fung Shui Your Home With a Lamp and Fountain". This creates value for your visitors and will bring some eyeballs. It will also help you like crazy in search engines. Which brings me to my next point...

2. Learn some SEO for Christs sakes
You don't have to be an expert or anything, but you should at least know HOW IMPORTANT A TITLE TAG IS. (hint hint)

-----

3. Make some friends that do this shit
You're not a designer you say? Well, I happen to be one.

If we were good buds I would have already hooked you up with a decent design. Also, I happen to be fairly handy with SEO. I would have already dealt with the terrible travesties on your websites.

Oh btw, programming makes me want to knife puppies. It's a good thing I have at least 10 good friends that really kick ass at it.

Get the picture?

You can make friends extremely easily if you have even the beginnings of a decent personality. Go to the events like Affiliate Summit. Get it in the chat rooms. Help someone out randomly. Read a booooook -> [ame="http://www.amazon.com/How-Win-Friends-Influence-People/dp/1439167346/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1289008229&sr=8-1"]Read a book[/ame].

4. Finally (and most importantly)...Keep at it till you either succeed or fucking die.
I'll just post this excerpt from an article that was on another thread.

"Most entrepreneurs go through a lot of trial and error before they strike gold. The 25 teenagers are no exception.

Adam Horowitz, an 18-year-old entrepreneur, started 30 websites in 3 years before he became successful. Finally, he sold his first six-figure product. After that, he sold another successful product, and then another.

"About three months ago, Horowitz came out with another product that produced $1.5 million in revenue in 3 days," says Tart. "None of that would have happened without his 30 initial failures."

First site - shitty.

Second site - shitty.

Third site - passable design, only site that has any chance of profit.

Your websites look like you opened your page code and whacked your dick on the keyboard until they were finished.

Next time use templates created by people with design skills to build your webpages, or use wordpress and free themes.

God my eyes...
