cheer's, this scripts the shit!.. not quite sure how i will use it yet.. obviousely to make money.. but how do i market it :|
 
Any idea why the script doesn't scrape the entire wikipedia article? It's only scraping the top section of the articles for me.

Also, what about adding a category option to generate.php and maybe a "generate index" option or page or something, so you can generate an index of all the pages you've generated, sorted by category?

Maybe I should take a stab at that.
 
wikipedia scraping

Just a useful warning note: if you are scraping content from wikipedia be warned that wikipedia will eventually ban your IP from accessing the site - it is better to download the wikipedia and access it from your own SQL database, which is allowed. Also grabing content from wikipedia causes double the bandwidth on your server - getting the content, and then sending the content to your visitor.

Wow, thank you for that. I had no idea. So wiki scraping is dead now too? Shit.

Bandwidth isnt an issue since it scrapes 1x.
They will definately not ban your ip when you hit them 50x a day.
downloading the sql database is a viable option.

Anyone solved the above problems? I encountered the same thing.
 
just wondering how those of you who are automating the creation of sites deal with uploading tons of campaigns w/ their adcopy and keyword lists to the various SEs? Do you also have a custom built PPC submission program?
 
can't seem to get the images next to the ads to show up.... i think fever in love brought up this problem..

Adsense Channel

Hey,

Firstly I'd like to thank you lerchmo for this script - its fucking awsome.... works straight out the box :bowdown:

Anyway, so I'm plugging away at it (as you all really should be by now) and I'm looking at this "adsense channel" - i'm not to shit up on my php atm but I can see you have it in there (site.php & in the database) though all entries are "0"

so my question is how to get this going/active? I presume we need to change the shit in the template to $channel.... then I'd have to get another form entry in the generator.php to plug-it into the database... I think I'm answering my own question here :rasta:

you haven't done anything with it though that I'm not seeing eh?

Thanks for the great posts and insight

With the new script I am able to get the info and pic some pictures. Then when I click generate Iam seeing this


Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mysql_real_escape_string() in /home/httpd/vhosts/wwwmonstercommerce.com/httpdocs/site.php on line 4

Any idea what might be causing this?
