South African Muslims are upset about a cartoon with an image of the prophet. The cartoon depicts the prophet Mohammad on a psychologist's couch saying that his followers do not have a sense of humor.

So they're getting together in a serious mood to talk about how upset they are about a cartoon. CARTOONS! Muslims are setting off car bombs and terrorist seems to be a major job category for Muslims, but these guys are sitting down to discuss how much the little sketches upset them. It amazes me they seem so clueless as to why they have a very poor reputation worldwide. They seem to be more concerned about how they are portrayed than how they act.

I'm extremely offended at the idea that someone else can tell me what I am allowed to draw.

I believe in freedom of speech. I believe that you deserve the right to point your finger at me, or anything else I hold dear, and laugh out loud about it. I believe you can criticise anything, you can make light of anything, and you can say right out loud when the emperor has no clothes. I believe every human being on the face of the planet deserves the right to stand up and say "this is absurd!" without fear of repercussion or censure.

And whenever someone says his personal beliefs are somehow immune to this kind of criticism, I believe you should kick that someone in the balls and mercilessly ridicule his personal beliefs until he figures out that it hasn't done a damn thing to them.

I'm just commenting on how it seems that a lot of people are jumping on the bandwagon and are just trying to hurt a group of people that they know will take a huge offense.
Muslims are not free of this themselves, and they do actually make fun of their Mulla's. They are actually a pretty common target in their jokes. But there seems to be a line where people always insist on crossing and take things too far. this goes for everyone. I'm not taking a particular side on this.

I don't like to see any group of people treated like shit based on their radical nutjobs. Muslims, Christians, Jews, they all have their extremes, and I get the fact that they don't represent the whole, unlike some people.
