Facebook Social Ads

Facebook totally changed my business and life. Going from mid x,xxx / month to mid xx,xxx / month thanks to you guys. I can upscale even more, I just need to wait for 1-2 months so I have enough cash flow to grow harder.

This thread is epic.

Not disclosing my niches, all I can say is teenagers + their interests = win! And don't just look at the US, only about 40% of my revenue is coming from the US, the rest is international (Belgium is HOT, UK is HOT - not much competition).
Dumb question - do you make your Belgium ads in English?

Don't really see the problem, local target = local offer right? I live in the Netherlands myself, to check out US offers I use proxies. Was that your question or did I misunderstand it?

I've tried UK dating ads (loopy love, I think) that redirect to a crappy offer if an IP from outside the UK visits. Well, the FB intern retards visit from Harvard or Silicon Valley and get redirected and reject my ads. So I've had to stick with the US, even though I've seen cool UK and Belgium offers out there. If I could suspend the redirect, even just for approval, I'd be in.

AND HOW THE HELL DID ALL THOSE ACAI ADS GET APPROVED? I tried a couple today and they were rejected. I can see masking or redirecting, but the ad copy itself should be enough to disapprove the ad even if it went to a Wikipedia page. Ugh.

Get yourself a geo redirect script.

No in dutch of course. However, I do see a lot of English ads in the Netherlands & Belgium as well, so I guess it has some good effect :).

As for the geo targetting: yes, this is a must if you go international. Don't always play by the book, to make big cash you have to be sneaky from time to time :updown:.

Yea Scito, like you Facebook has changed my business and life in an upward fasion and much of what i have done has been from ideas off this forum and the blogs i have found from it. Best info on the net frankly. Thanks for the pointer on the teens demo!

I only present UK offers to UK users currently. I am not clear what the problem is to present overseas offers though? ie a US offer to a US user if i have a UK account, dont you just set the ad up, put the geo target in place and set it running?

getting those approved are easy, set up a redirect and send traffic directly to Online Dating - Free to Join UK Singles Dating Site - Loopylove Dating Services set the bid price to .10 or something

once it gets approved, increase the bid and switch the forwarding link to your aff link

I've never had a problem with this either. If I get disapproved it's usually for something else.

Yeah, I do the simple redirect just as you laid it out.

I wrote a simple PHP script to do it. After the ad is approved, I comment out a line and send the traffic to the makes-me-money url.

As a backup I cloak when the referrer contains the string "intern/ads", and also if the IP address comes from a class C ip block where I've seen a reviewer before. Probably not bullet proof, but it's got me by so far.

Hey nstory,

Is this basically what you are talking about? I kinda pieced together different parts of other people's cloaking scripts.

Code:
<?php

if($_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] != Facebook IP 1 || $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] != Facebook IP 2) { header( 'Location: http://entercloakedurlhere.com' );

}
$cloaked_url = "http://www.entercloakedurlhere.com"; // devs go here
$normal_url = "http://www.enteruserurlhere.com"; // everyone else goes here

$tracking_ref = $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'];

if(strpos($tracking_ref,”intern.facebook”) || strpos($tracking_ref,”dev.facebook”)){
Header( “HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently” );
Header( “Location: ” . $cloaked_url );
} else {
Header( “HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently” );
Header( “Location: ” . $normal_url );
}
?>
Thanks man,

Jake

Is anyone else struggling to reach the daily limit for campaigns? I have over 10 campaigns running and they all never hit the daily limit.

I have increased the max bid, but it still wont hit the limit.

Does adding more variations of the same ads help?

you need better ctr....

Facebook randomly gave me a huge spending limit increase and a dedicated rep last night. I am pleasantly surprised. Rep seems very professional.

Nice! I just had two ads denied for reasons I can't quite fathom. Third time's a charm, right?

I did encounter the "Preapproved" status the other day. They offered me a version of the ad that had a period I missed at the end of the final sentence. One click and I was approved! That was nice.

It's got nothing to do with having a rep, everyone gets preapproved ads.

Oh, I know. I tied a response to the rep post with my own observation. I hadn't seen that one before. The seem to be approving/denying faster now. I just need more of the approving.

Quick question. I've read most of the thread and saw a few different opinions. When your testing a campaign for the first time what limit do you put on it for daily spending? Ive heard a couple people say $10, but do you really think you can accurately judge how it will do with such a small limit?

personally i dont set a limit on any campaign, but i keep a close eye on the spending ready to hit the pause button.

depends on the payout but i usually get a sense for potential after spending between $75-200. there are a lot of variables obviously.

ya, their are a lot of variables. I'm just trying to get a general idea. I'm guessing your not at the original 250 spending limit, lol. I started this about 3 weeks ago and I'm still at the original limit. So its a little harder to test more than 2 or 3 campaigns, get an idea for how they do, and stay in my spending limit.
