how do you guys make your ads? man i'm bidding up on my frikin campaign but am not getting any impressions/hits. i emailed fb and here is what he said:

It's all about your CTR...however people are bidding crazy high all over and even my best ads have slowed to almost a complete stop.

Thanks for this thread you guys! The information was very insightful and valuable. I have heard a lot of rave reviews about this facebook stuff.

Thanks,
Aurelius

LOWER YOUR FUCKING BID. YOU'RE PART OF THE REASON FACEBOOK THINKS THEY CAN DEMAND $0.50+ A CLICK.

AAAAAAAAAH.

Seriously, what the hell are you marketing where you can profit when you're paying $0.95/click?!

What do you guys consider a good CTR? I Just started today and my top one's a .9. Trying to see what a realistic goal for a high CTR is nowadays. Thanks

...didn't realize the $.95 part...fucking nuts.

i have a niche that i am promoting. my ad is only targeting about 145,000 users with interests surrounding that niche. do you think i should broaden my target audience?

.9 is about the best I've ever gotten, and the best I believe is realistically possible. Unless you're targetting RIDICULOUSLY tightly.

When he says "relevance" he means that ads targetted tightly can sometimes survive on a lower CTR than a loosely targetted ad. At least that's my understanding.

Well impressions started to show and each one hit 100K then the clicks I received finally showed up...my CPC is a lot higher than normal also given the CTR.

Same thing happened to me. Facebook's stats didnt show any impressions or clicks at all for the 1st hour. But I actually got about 20 clicks in the first hour.

The clicks eventually showed up this morning at their suggested bid price. :(

It doesn't matter how narrow or wide i target, i get no lower than 30 cents a click. At that rate you better have an out-of-this-world payout or crazy conversion rate.

*BUT* i like their interface :)

I woke up today to Facebook having only actually spent a grand total of $21 of my $1000 budget. I wonder what's going on...

I worked the hell out of it and only managed to squeeze $200 out of $1000...that was only because I would create a ton of new ads and they slowly saw impressions, no matter the bid and come to a halt between 60-100k even if the CTR was .1 +

Edit: Suggested bid: $0.61 - 0.90...HAHA! Yeah right...

Heh it's not counting my clicks today, so something tells me I won't hit my budget...
I'd kind of like to up my max CPC(it's low), but I'm afraid the clicks will count as a result of the trigger, or they'll update the system. Haha.

Pointless to even up your bids...I set an ad up last night and picked the highest suggested bid crap they spit out and still didn't move any faster then the ones I would bid out normally. They fucked something up Sunday or something else besides CTR has come into play

I'm waiting this out. Advertisers will clue in that they can't afford to pay $0.61/click and then I'll get back on board.

EDIT: There's probably a hard-hitting CPM contract that's impacting the CPC ad network right now.

Yeah I've noticed several new ones...I wonder how much they loose. I can't see how most of the CPM banners can convert.

Oh no I'm still getting nice clicks. My aff program is showing 1476 so far today, and counting.
It's just facebook that's not counting.

Well back to the drawing board...I'm only at 116 clicks on my aff programs. They don't show in facebook though.
