Facebook PPC Ads (UK)

  1. Ads that are allowed today can easily be banned/removed tomorrow
  2. Facebook thinks they can tell us how to do our job(yeah, because I really need to target dating ads to "single males interested in females"
  3. Charging for the first 5 clicks from an IP is bullshit. And you have no click fraud detection
  4. Letting users fucking VOTE on ads is quite possibly the worst idea ever, and only works in the "let's all jack off to web 2.0" world
  5. No matter how much we spend we have no say, and no ability to contact anyone aside from ad reps.
You guys made your message perfectly clear, and I hope you all enjoy bankruptcy. Do me a favor and tell Mark Zuckerberg to suck my fucking nut.

Maybe you guys don't 'get it', but when we submit ads, not every ad is profitable. We fine tune the shit over time. Unstable ad approvals, and you guys retroactively removing ads kills the business model.

LOL i love it

Wow you guys are rude. I welcome any FB rep contact. I am not from the UK though but I do run traffic for the UK :)

dude fb pissed off a lot of ppl on here when they first laxed their advertising terms and then threw that "progress" just away. I spent a nice sum of money there and then my ad rep comes at me and tells me she wants better quality from me!? WTF. Well, fuck her and fuck fb's advertising system right now. I got pissed and now another content network gets my money.

besides from that, the account rep is not making it for your pleasure or for fun. he just gets paid on comission and you're the one bringing in money for him.

oh, and apparently they're all busy making a new front page instead of working this whole "social ads" system out. Ever tried to create more than a few ad groups? You cant keep track of everything. Its so overloaded.

I asked them for a simple drop down effect for each campaign so that I could at least hide the ads for each campaign. Nah, no time. They're working on a new front page that looks exactly like the same old shit.

^^ No doubt, you shouldn't have people writing 3rd party tools just to make your advertising back-end more usable. Good thing Facebook has investors because we know damn well they couldn't pay the bills without them.

Pretty much been said already, but the way with how Facebook changes their mind on a weekly basis it seems, apparently doesn't take any input besides from their users, which, oh what a surprise, don't like commercial ads, giving no warning at all, the inconsistency with which ads are approved or disapproved, the useless campaign management (even myspace's is better these days, and that's saying something), not to mention charging for clicks multiple times is why we aren't running anything on Facebook anymore.

Gave it a try during your 2 week prank joke window, but yeah.

You guys are taking ridiculous to a new level, before all of this Google was pretty much the strictest in terms of guidelines, restrictions and affiliates, and even Google gives advance notice, works to establish guidelines instead of banning a whole business model and is pretty consistent with their ad approval. So congrats, you've finally surpassed them in something. So while you aren't making any money at all, at least you can be proud of that fact, while you try and attract brand advertisers, independent artists and ebook peddlers. Keep following the input of your non-paying user base and you'll eventually end up with "1 of your friends recently added random_app", "2 of your friends are fans of Profitability? What's that?" and your internal job ads.

Oh and what exactly are quality and relevant ads according to you and your users?

"Free" Casino/Gambling ads

Nearly there yet, though I believe the casino sites may be profiting off of their ads, so better ban those too.

Don't worry, just wait until the quarter ends and Facebook's executives realize they're still not making any money. Then ad approval will be looser than your mom's vagina again.

It's still possible to make damn good money on FB, they just keep getting in your way and making it harder. You know you're in trouble when even AdCenter's interface and approval processes are better than yours.

everyone who runs facebook should just send a fucknig email to their rep and get that shit in their head. cuz every one of us here are capable of giving them money, and they just dont fucking want it. what bad does it do if they lose a couple dumbass members who thinks the ads are offensive?

Google gives advance notice, works to establish guidelines instead of banning a whole business model

I got banned w/o reason by Google - bastard fucks

FB:

More often than not, when somebody is spending A LOT of money, they are making money. That means if they keep spending more money (which is making you money and making them money) let them spend more money so everybody makes more money.

Make sense?

To the OP please GTFO I can't believe you even poked your head in here.

Let's look at what you just did to the industry, the great heist that you guys just performed.

  • Facebook decided they needed money
  • Facebook allowed shady advertisements to run on their network
  • Facebook reviewed and approved all the ads agreeing they were ok to show to their users
  • Facebook users complained
  • Facebook banned the ads
  • FTC complained
  • Facebook rolled over and played innocent heroes and got pats on the back for getting rid of the "bad advertisers" that they made a business decision to let in in the first place
  • In the end Facebook made an ocean of cash on the offers and then shit on the affiliates that gave it to them.
Like I said GTFO
