Ever took Ryanair?

I now several UK airline pilots, who have told me the same thing: they'd never fly Ryanair, and they'd never fly into Paris Roissy or CDG airports voluntarily.

I've clocked-up over 300 flights around Europe and I would never ever go through Paris, mainly because you never know when the workers will go on strike, but also because they are shit - they once lost 11 bags from a party I was part of. CDG is also a badly designed airport.

Just got back from a trip to the UK from Italy. Easyjet to the UK for €45 and Ryanair at £26 + tax from Manchester to Italy. Given that both trips were under 2 hours it's ok to pay for cramped conditions. However Easyjet is much nicer than Ryanair - better seats, less brash colour scheme and EJ don't have that horribly annoying trumpet blast at the end of every flight.

If you want to be sure you'll have a great experience, try to fly via a German airport.

ryanair has nobody remotely close to looking like that as passengers or employees... its probably the worst airline i've ever flown... they are nazi's with baggage

All airlines suck right now. Except maybe a few Asian & Middle Eastern Airlines like Cathay, Singapore Airlines, Asiana, Emirates and others...

i recently flew first class in lufthansa... barcelona to munich to nyc

at my layover they picked me up in porsche cayenne turbo instead of taking the bus to the terminal... dropped me off at first class lounge.. and i got to bypass passport and security check... also full beds on the flight...

so i'd add lufthansa.. or any star alliance for that matter

Any US airlines that have this type of service/quality?

Ripoff bastards. They were going to charge £1 to go to the toilet, don't know if it got brought in though.

Is that a safety thing?

Yeah - Ryanair because they are based in Ireland, which has less strict maintenance rules than England, and they are stupidly price-focussed. Also the pilots/cabin crew are worked like dogs.

Paris because the French ATCs and French airline pilots all insist in speaking French to each other around their, EVEN THOUGH THE INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGE OF AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL IS ENGLISH.

They had an accident or two a few years back because of it (freighters so didn't make big news, but still killed the crew), and the IAA tried to make them speak English, but the French went on strike until they relented.

It happens all over France, but worst in CDG because of how busy it is.
