Electric bill

shows a negative balance....you paid too much :)
i do that all the time...in fact i am usually about 6 months ahead on utilities

I have 2 AC's running almost all day, cooking, cleaning, tv's, my computer (pulling 500W), etc... $120 /month.

Damn, do living costs vary that much around the country? $150/month for a 3000 sq ft house down here in FL.

I got the same size house and live alone so most rooms arnt pulling electricity besides AC. And my bill is ~$300 a month

yeah idk... Maybe someones leaching off my power >:-/ Maybe it's the guard towers or the electric ovens. Should I convert to wood or natural gas? I'll figure it out though... But yeah it does suck a bag of dicks because $500/mo on electric is insane.

At my old apartment, only 840 sqft, my electric bill hit over $350 in the summers. Second floor heat trap with shitty windows and two 20 year old air conditioners and ancient appliances. On days with the outside temperature at 100 degrees, I was lucky to keep the inside temperature at 85. I hated that shithole.

I moved in July to a newly renovated apartment in the same complex. Bottom floor. much better windows, new air conditioners, new appliances. Added a washer/dryer to the mix which got used heavily. This summer it hit 100 degrees, I was able to keep it at 65 degrees no problem, and my bill went down to $110.

It also helps that Pennsylvania now has power choice. I was able to drop 25% from my bill just due to new competition from suppliers and not having to automatically get my power from Excelon.

mines about $400/month here in PA over the winter months, got a few of those electric fireplaces that eat up a ton of electricity. Only about $200/mo during the summer.

PA here as well - I'm around $150 average year round. In winter I get raped by the oil man though.

Electricity costs vary widely across the US, which is why some of the largest data centers by Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, etc. are located near hydroelectric power plants selling cheap electricity (eastern WA)

The costs in eastern WA are only around 2.85c per kilowatt hour -- where other parts of the country it could be 5x that amount.

I was thinking you lived off in the boonies, and used firewood to heat the home front and solar/wind for power.

This internet persona has my mind blown.

naze disappoint

In Seattle: (we have lots of hydro electric here)
First 16 kWh per day at 4.33¢ per kWh
It goes up if you grow plants indoors and consume a lot though... My bill went up $200 when I had 3 lights (2 metal halide and 1 hps), dehumidifier, ventilation, accessories, squirrel fans, etc when I first got my medical card. Lot cheaper if you did fluorescent though I suppose....

Damn dude do u not have AC? 350 here 2600 sq ft.... SoFla

S Florida also. We rarely reach over $180 in dead summer, usually in the $100 range during the rest of the year. Roughly 2000 sqft house.

Water on the other hand, $60 a month easy! Bastards.
