Core2Duo 2.5Ghz Managed Dedi BLOW OUT!

I agree with most of your statement other than the last part.

Personally I think one should assume that all bandwidth is burstable, unless told otherwise. My last hosting company used to do 10 or 100 all you can eat capped, or above 100 it would be metered capped at 1.5x your commit level.

When it comes to hosting, typically it is best not to ASSume. It's better to ask, or on higher end commitments have a contract so it's all spelled out and there is no confusion.

Right. What I meant is that bw should be either a) burstable or b) the limits / caps should be clearly stated.

Of course, some day we may all live and peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations too. ;)

What datacenter, what bandwidth providers? Test IP and/or file for speed test? Fully managed definition?

Looks like you are (or are with) Mojohost, out of Nap of the Americas in Miami, but past reviews of Mojohost (including reviews by Dee) reference a Detroit facility location (S&D?)

I have boxes in Dallas, and Miami. As does MOJO (Detroit), Yellow Fiber (Carolinas), GotHost (California), as well as many other companies (using Miami data center). Whether their central business office is in location to a data center is irrelevant.

Most companies serious about their business are going to use one of the major data centers in the U.S., as well as co-location. Miami is Terramark, here's a link for you to feed your brain. Enjoy your read.
Terremark Worldwide Inc | Leading IT Infrastructure Services

I obviously can keep my WF MOD client happy with his multiple boxes, so I must be doing something right. Those who are actually serious and looking for dedicated hosting solutions, feel free to hit me up directly for a quotes. I have additional both higher end, and low end, tailored solutions for your needs available.

Carry on.

I don't care about business office location, as long as remote hands are available if hardware goes bust in the datacenter.

Figured it was Terremark, great location. When you say that serious companies will use one of the major datacenters, there are some datacenters that I will purposely avoid. I spent a few years in the industry doing shared hosting and reselling servers, so I have a lot of info that I'm working off of. I purposely avoid some "reputable" datacenters due to past experiences - I started in the hosting industry right around the time that Rackshack was first expanding its cheap server offerings beyond Cobalt servers, so I've witnessed the growth and/or had servers at many dedicated hosts/colo datacenters including EV1, BurstNet, ThePlanet, Colo4Dallas, Wholesale Internet, Interserver, FDC, NAC, DedicatedNow, Sagonet, HiVelocity, LayeredTech, SoftLayer, etc, and I like to avoid some of those (and some others not mentioned) due to past experiences.

Good to see that you have a reference here, but I need info (which you helpfully provided) besides just references.

Definitely keeping your offers in mind in case I need more space/resources/bandwidth soon, since I'm currently re-evaluating my server/cloud/vps/backup setups.
