I just thought I would keep this updated.

Hey Emp, would you like to keep track of it? By all means, lord knows I need some help with it. You can be the official scorekeeper.

Hmmm...
I think I would assist you, but I think there is going to be some rule calls to be made here (and probably some more in the next days.)

Being in the contest myself, I think this might clash a bit with other contestants, so I will write these down as I see them and let you decide.
(probably PM you any news).

To start the controversy :D, I would rate part 1 and 2 of bookworm-seo article as 1 article. They are rather short and, sorry to say so, part 1 does not make much sense without part 2 and there has been some long articles in this contest.

:alert:
If anyone wants to challenge my position in this, I do agree that there is a conflict of interest. I do want a part in the price and will let this office be taken by any interested, uninvolved party.
:alert:

I will also be a lot less online the week before the 30th (visitors), so I hope I can keep up.

So here is (my) new table.

01. Dave (6)
02. Bookworm-SEO (6)
03. Collegedowntime (3)
04. emp (2)
05. Italia (1)

Hey Emp,

First, thanks for updating the stats. Second, nice article on eye tracking. Useful knowledge, especially as I'm looking at a blog design concept that merges SEO with this. I'll keep you guys posted if/when that becomes a reality.

I obviously disagree that they be counted as one article. I posted them as two on my blog and here, because they're more digestible that way, and my full series on the GLC is over 2000 words long (7 posts at City SEO)...
Besides, newspaper commonly write articles as part of a series. For example, the Montreal Gazette ran a four-part piece on a family whose teen kids became crack addicts. The first articles were pointless without the later ones, yet they were still considered articles.

But then, like you said, I also obviously have a vested interest in how things are counted.

Hi Bookworm-Seo.

Yes, conflict of interests is shite when it comes to things like this.
You did get multiple points for other multiple part articles.
To be honest with you, I have re-read the article and part 1 is nothing but tease for part 2.

I am familiar with the concept of multi-part articles, but normally, every part summarizes at least part of the concept/story/whatever. This part 1 does not. It is only a shard, an introduction, a teaser.
That format is common for blogs. I do not think it constitutes an article.

Maybe I am feeling a bit like you are "getting off easy" by just crossposting your blog here. Hell, just dump the whole thing and win the contest, why not?

On the other hand, I see you want the number 1 spot, so I see where you are coming from, and I can relate to that.

I have awarded John an article point for a mere rant (that got some nice responses, but still).

Soooo.....

I am handing this over to Jon and let him decide. As I said, I might not be completely impartial in this.

::emp::

BTW.. you ARE leading the pack at the moment.

PS: I will not be online a lot the next days. I will try to get a peek at the further developments once a day, but I can't promise.
Please post a link to any new articles you write in this thread so I can follow up. Worked fine til now, I hope it continues to work out.

PPS @Bookworm
Thanks for reading my article and for the nice comment. I thought I might just put some of that psychology education to use.
